I've heard dumb things like "squats for the twats" and "curls for the girls"
It's just stupid. Lift for yourself, not for some airheaded bimbo who will only like you because you could benchpress two of her.
The female attraction is a nice bonus, but should never be your only reason for lifting, IMO.Work hard, play harder, lift hardest.

Theres no rules....lift for whatever motivates you, if its to get chicks then so be it. Personally I like challenging myself, like how I feel and have a physically demanding job so being stronger always helps.

Some girls dig it, other girls find it gross. Just lift for yourself. I find it gives me more confidence to talk to girls, but thats about it.

I lift for girls, 100%.
And I want to get into modeling for underwear or designer brands till I get out of college.
Lifting is 100% ego-centered, I don't care what people say. There is NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!!!

I lift for a few reasons, but I'd say it's mostly (or at least half) for getting girls.

If you think that you should lift weights only to attract\impress girls, you should be shot.

I lift for myself, What other motivation do you need then the self gratification of moving past sticking points or finally benching the weight you been dieing to bench. Too succeed it has to come from the inside and if you have the inside drive you will stick to it and perserve.

I dont think many girls "like" skinny guys. Most would prefer a guy fairly well built, it's just the personality that comes along with it. Most guys that are pretty build are very dedicated to BBing and maybe dont drink or go out as much etc. I dont know any girl that says they want a skinny guy, but I do know some that think a 225lb 9%bf guy would be very gross.

Getting huge wont make girls like you. Women are intrigued by looks but not attracted by them. Women think more subconiciously more than men and are attracted to guys for personality. When i say personality i mean they like guys who are somebody, they wont just like a guy because hes a nice guy.. that bores them.
If your lifting for girls, drop the weights and go pick up a copy of "The Game" by Trey Strauss...
Lift to boost your selft esteem, do it for urself or it has no meaning. When lift your confidence level will rise, thats what gets the girls.. not being huge.

I agree with that it is a nice little bonus. Getting girls isn't about looks most of the time. It's about you as a person. Of course a lot of people is superficial (who isn't?) but if a girl only wants you because you look like Jay Cutler then she isn't worth it IMO.

I lift because I used to be a big fat ass but maybe 40% of me now lifts for girls the other because I've never even dreamed of having a 6 pack 4 years ago, and I want one now.

i lift because i cant stand looking thin. i hate it. i dont like being not solid. it helps a bit with girls, but girls look mostly at the abbs and arms so theres no point of doing it for girls. my girlfreind is an arm girl. she likes muscular arms. but mine are 15.5 inches and she thinks thats huge. she says i scare her sometimes. well she is also a small person. shes like 5 foot and im 6 foot. so if i was lifting for her i would have stoped at when i first met her with my 12.5 arms cuz she liked them like that. i do it for me. plus im not i fighting type person. so im hoping to get big enough that people just wont want to fight me.

to change myself, i didnt like the image i used to have. girls are a big part of it, i mean why do you really care how you look? because you want to attract the best mate. if i didnt give a **** about chicks i would play computer games 10 hours a day, shower once a week, wear a stained wife beater with sweatpants, and eat like a pig.

I used to lift just for the girls, but then I got properly into it and it felt much better doing it for myself and improving my body rather than just doing it for some tart that wears too much make-up and only goes for guys that can bench loads.

Right now I dont have any spesific things I lift for... But I lift so I wont go back to the skinny guy I was before... If I dont lift I lose weight very quick and that really sucks.. So to be abel to keep my self-image (body) and to be happy with my looks I have to work out...
And of cours its cool to look 10x more fit than my mates when I am going to Spain this summer

I don't understand the ridicule of those who work out for girls. I personally work out for sports, but who cares what other people workout for?
