Does toasted bread loose its nutrients?

Says it all. I was told that toasting bread makes it loose all nutritional value. Like if you toats your whole wheat slice o' bread, it's got "nothing" in it after. No vitamins, no "whole wheat"...

I find this kinda strange, maybe it'll loose vitamins because moisture is gone, but "wheatness"?

This kinda lso goes with whey being cooked, i know that it'll loose all protein if cooked (regular whey).
So does this apply to bread as well?

    thank

Firstly, normal bread does not have all that many quality nutrients (vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants) to begin with! (even if it is wholewheat)...

Secondly, toasting it (as long as you do not burn it to bits) does not really change things at all - you may decrease the water slightly, but other than that most of the bread is not effected and will not be changed in it's nutritional value (in terms of carbs/protein/fat).

And you can cook whey - you do not decrease the protein content at all and the biological value remains basically unchanged. It is the biological function of the whey proteins (that is, it's anti-cancer properties, it's growth hormone stimulation, it's immune-stimulating function etc) that are lost. So you can cook it if you want.
