A great shake i usually make (when i dont have protein powder) includes 1 large banana, about 4 tbs natural peanut butter, around 24 oz of whole milk, and some strawberries. This is a great shake for gaining weight if nothing else is working...adding a weight gainer like N-Large helps too. I have a fast metabolism so i dont have to worry about the fat too much.

I put some frozen strawberries (maybe 6 whole), some milk, protein powder, and strawberry yogurt in my PWO shake.
I also make one with protein + banana + milk

My protein shakes taste great even with water, the flavour is the best I've tried from any brand.
Reflex Whey Protein, Choc-mint. It's a uK based company I think, cheap aswell. I was going to buy ON, but itwas £30 - £45, not a chance, found Reflex Whey for £20 for a 2lb tub, 40g of protein in 2 scoops (my own scoop from a previous tub of a different brand, the scoop you get with reflex is half the size, I threw it out).
I mix mine up with 3/4 pint glass of milk, throw in a banana, and 2 scoops of powder, blend it and drink it. If I need some protein for a meal when I don't have much food I'll just throw in 1 scoop of protein into a bottle of water and shake it up and drink it.
To add taste, you could throw in a banana because it blends well, or some strawberries, soft fruit works best, Apples dont blend too good and oranges leave too many bits. Oatmeal works well aswell, but the bottom is a bit sickening (I hate lumps in drinks, feel like throwing up), so ya can just eat the bottom.
