Hey,
Can anyone let me know what size my quads and calves should be? My lower body is pretty small and I am just about ready to get them up to par, but it is hard to find stats on people's sizes.
Right now, I am about 5'10" 185, and my arms are about 16", so can you let me know what I shoudl be striving for?

Starting all over again. Glad I've dropped 20 pounds so far, mad that it's still 40 pounds away from my goal.

Thanks for the posts guys!
I started working out my legs hard this week (it's awful) but right now I am at
16.25" arms, 15" calves, 23.25" quads
and I definitely want to look proportional all the way around, so I guess by your standards I definitely need to increase the size of my lower body.

skip (abdominator) made a good post about proportion. he said
1) calves, neck, and arms should be around the same size
2) there should be a 10 inch difference between waist and chest (around nipples) for a good v-taper
3) thighs should be within 6 inches of waist
and of course you should have good shoulders and forearms to match your chest and arms*** BMB Founder and President ***

You guys really do over emphasize on the upper body, i have puny arms (13 inch...wel 14 now..) and my quads were 24" before i even worked them out....its almost as if most have u have never used your legs before u started working out. I look like i weigh 150lbs from an upperbody shot but I actually weigh 175, most of the mass coming in my lats/thighs. If you want MASS workout the LEGS!, leg strength is seriously important.....it can help u a lot more in life than pussy muscles like biceps...
The "average" quad size is about 21-22 inches, and the average calf size is 15 inches, along with the average bicep size of 13 inches, neck 15 inches chest 39 inches, waist 32 inches
These^ were all averages taken from a range of men of bodyfats rangin from 9-14%.
Remember this is a "bodybuilding" forum, you should be a lot bigger than that. I would personally say 25 inches is only starting to get big, you want about 28+inch on the thigh before it is big.
Magnus Samuellson has 25 inch arms! so 25 inch legs arent big. Train hard, Eat smart and get enough rest do plenty of deadlift/squat and this will give you mass.Stick to the basics, heavy compund lifts, some isolation work and a hell of a lot of food and rest!

# Arms 22 inches
# Chest 57 inches
# Waist 34 inches
# Thighs 28.5 inches
# Calves 20 inches
Arnold's Stats, his legs were 28.5 inch, probably an ideal size for a bodybuilder.....his legs looked small on stage....28 inch would look good with a nice upperbody build.Stick to the basics, heavy compund lifts, some isolation work and a hell of a lot of food and rest!
