I too have read various studies that show that pre-workout is in fact more important because it results in a more anabolic environment.
Also what we have thought to be critical in resupplying glycogen has been mostly a myth. During training we do not empty all of our glycogen levels therefor it is not necessary to spike insulin via dextrose and malto like we have for so long thought

not 100% true.. many articles state that if all ur PWO carbs come from dextrose its not necessary.. adding maybe 1/4 of ur carbs from dex to help supply the nurients faster and adding other carbs such as oats, bananas, to mix with it give a great response..
overall a good whey + carb solution PWO is critical and has showed a significant increase in muscle recovery by research science
dextrose is just a fast acting high GI carb that can be utilized.. use it in small portions dont just OD on glycogen PWO that is something that is not necessary.. creating a small spike doesnt do ur body very much hard at all especially post workout when the muscles need to be rejuventated after tearing them apart
