6 years in the USAF, been stationed in Alabama for my whole damn career. Currently in Asscrackistan gettin' my swole on. When I get back to the states plan on retraining, getting a fat check, and hopefully leaving Alabama.

23 and stationed in kansas in the big red one as a medic at a line unit and have done two deployments to iraq. Once to baghdad and once to tikrit

I'll be following your footsteps soon. Still at Fort Sam, duty station is said to be Fort Riley but it's always subject to change. How do you like it there? I've been trying to get some info on the post but there isn't much. It seems pretty boring there but the base seems to be friendly for the most part and more family oriented.

How's Fort Riley? I tried to read up on the base but there really isn't much. I know there isn't too much to do in Kansas either.

There is NOTHING to do in Fort Riley. You have to drive to either Topeka (1.5 hours away) or Kansas City, MO (2-2.5 hours away) to find anything to do.

Its a great base, a lot of history, but nothing to do.

Just as I expected. I won't have the money for a car either. How's the base itself? The PX, places to eat, people in general? It seems like a friendly family catering base.
