exercises for lat width (in my opinion): [in decreasing importance]
1) weighted WIDE GRIP pullups
2) Wide grip lat pulldowns
the other exercises generally build up both thickness and width together.. if you're going for pure width increment.. these 2 would be the ones you want to look at. if you want width, go WIDE"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke

You need to stretch your shoulder blades out though. You could have NO lat muscles per se and still have an wide "lat" spread with flexible scapula
Try hanging from a chin bar with a super wide grip with 100 pounds strapped to your waist. Do this for as long as you can. Do it every training day, as it is a stretching exercise. Use straps.
Remember, Lat stretching is not the same as shoulder blade stretching. The lats are stretched more through NARROW grip exercises, the Scapula through WIDE grip exercises. You want SCAPULA.
Do it for a month then pm me with tears in your eyes thanking me.
