whole grain will be better for you. compare whole grain pasta vs. normal pasta to whole grain/wheat bread vs. white bread.

Granted, I've had a hard time finding whole grain pasta that tastes as good as the normal stuff, but w/e.

Summed up, whole grain will be cleaner if your bulking, and will probably have less calories per serving.

What benefits is there to whole wheat over regular? I found that the GI for both is about the same (37 to 38) so wondering what else to consider.

If you always talk about how you could be in great shape if you just worked out and ate right, why don't you just work out and eat right?

I think the GI and digestion difference is more than that. Fiber is also an issue, along with processing (which removes many natural nutrients).

I feel that the reduction in taste/texture quality when comparing wholegrain pasta to white pasta outweighs the nutritional advantage.

i.e. Yes wholegrain may be better, but the extent to which it is better is not enough to justify the general crapiness of wholegrain pasta.

I love wholegrain pasta and will always use it in preference to normal pasta. Its lower GI and has a lot more fibre. Wholegrain>refined always for me.
