Nope...its true anger does make you stronger. A lot of weightlifting is in your head. If you psyche yourself out before you lift the weight, most likely you won't be able to lift it. Before you lift it, if you convince yourself that you're stronger than ever before and that its easy weight you will probably be able to bang it out. Works for me. Thats why getting in the right mindset before lifting is important.
If you watch Ronnie Coleman lift...when he yells out all that **** and then says "LIGHTWEIGHT" like 100 times...thats kinda what goes through my head. lol

Mark O'melley, a rugby league player, watches his opposing number of the team he plays next in video tapes and creates a list of things that aggravate him.
He calls it the O'melley list. Throughout that week, he constantly works himself up in a rage, at the gym, at training so come game time, all he wants to do is just drop his oppositte number.
Anger is useful, it 'centres' you, so you're not thinking if that chick doing pilates is watching you, or you're not distracted by the breast bouncing of someone on a treadmill.
I think it would produce adrenaline too. How could it not, it's raw emotion. Like fear.
What do you kids think?

Yes , but not what you think , you can not force yourself to be angry to make urself stronger , its a feeling that is only present when you are trully upset ..
Its more RAGE , than madness or anger..
For example this little kid , weakling , couldn't lift anything , he was really weak , then 1 day his dad was fixing a car and the car fell on him , the kid ran there and picked up the car and saved his dad .. how is that possible?
Its called RAGE , his feelings were so intense his body reacted like that and did it even if it was beyond his psihical power , that is called rage.
And another example is 1 person you care about is getting beat up and you cant do anything , there are like 3 guys all 250 pounds , and you are 150 pounds , and then your RAGE and your feelings go so far again like in story before this and without even thinking you start hiting them knocking them out , they hit you on the face and you dont even feel anything you just keep hitting like a mad animal ..
Ain't anything similar happen to any of you caus it sure did to me , i feelt rage few times and In those Rage moments I was unstoppable

i always force myself to be angry. as i said above, it 'centres' you.
but i agree with you that raw emotion makes you do crazy things.
One of my favourite workout philosophies is
'as soon as you become happy with what you look like, you've failed'
The need to feel like you have to improve yourself is what drives you.
So i believe psyching yourself up, using whatever you can, helps drastically. I feel that this is a VERY overlooked aspect of the gym.
The bodybuilders mentality

hahaha all i think about to get into a rage is why no one can beat the ****ing san antonio spurs. they are bunch of chumps. tony parker is so short, just block the littly gypsy looking thing. and manu ginobli is HORRIBLE. such an ugly player.
man i'm gettin so angry just thinking about it.
i'd steer clear of the potentially depressing and painful stuff. but that might be because i'm a girl, and often cry myself to sleep at night.
