Ive have come off the creatine now and i think i will for good. everytime i take it i get painfull mouth ulcers. Ulcers is suppose to be caused from lack of nutrition however i have been eating great and having all the daily food that i need. the only explination to it would have to be the creatine. ever since i have taken it away the mouth ulcers have disappered.
Is this a regular thing among creatine users or is just a personl side affect???

I have never experienced ulcers with creatine and I haven't heard of it happening with anyone else.
Someone may be able to confirm this but I believe ulcers can be brought on by stress. Any stressful events lately?---------------------------

BS!
No, they are not. You are thinking of fever blisters.

Search for "creatine monohydrate" and you will get 234 studies.
Creatine monohydrate is probably the most researched supplement ever. It works and it is safe. A lot of ppl around here need to grow a pair.
Now, do not confuse my response to "Creatine Monohydrate" as applying to all creatine mixes. A lot of the junk supplements like NO-XPlode deserve a LOT of caution.Last edited by 4estGimp; 07-24-2007 at 11:50 AM.

for gods sake people protect creatine like its their girlfriend or something, stop being so damn defencive, he wasn't posting it as a "fact" but was asking whether anyone else had it, and how it is just coincidental that when he came off of it the ulcers went away, so he may be alergic to that specific brand, or excess creatine.

The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.
Man is by nature a social animal; an individual who is unsocial naturally and not accidentally is either beneath our notice or more than human. Anyone who does not partake of society is either a beast or a god.

creatine = mouth ulcers
i was using pure creatine monohydrate micronized. after loading and a 1 lter mouth ulcers started. took bonjela / gargled with hot water / anti biotics from doc but no relief. stopped creatine and they disappeared in 2 days. started creatine and they were back in a week.
i think this should be looked into. if there are mouth ulcers there can be more stuff happing in the stomach

Glad you mentioned it. I am experiencing the same thing. Results have been great on creatine, but I am getting mouth ulcers. After not taking it for a month they came back within a few days of being back on it. Everyone is genetically different, we're not all the same. I'm going to stop using it despite it being good for workouts. It does occur naturally in the body but so do a load of other chemicals and i don't load up on those. Everything you take has a side effect whether it be positive or negative.
