NeoSeminole's post says it all - even with a naturally narrow shoulder structure Levrone owned Flex in width. Plus Levrone never needed fake muscle.

Agreed but Ruhl owns them both in width...

They both have awesome physiques but I prefer Flex's aesthetics... Flex in 93 was much better than the still awesome massive Flex of 99 IMHO.

I think the 93 Flex, along with 03 Coleman is the best physique ever on a bodybuilding stage.

i really liked flex wheeler, and still do in a way but when i found out about the synthol and implats i lost a whole lot of respect for him.

Just that I don't think Kevin's extra width gives him an edge in how good his physique looks compared to Flex. Most guys Flex stood on stage in the early 90s with were dramatically bigger. But Flex just had a better quality physique.

My point is that they are very close in quality all over, the difference being that Levrone is wider, so Levrone is better.

I get what you're saying. They do however, have dramatically different muscle contours. So I guess it's just completely subjective....

Who knows maybe if Levrone didn't try to get ready for the Olympia in record setting time each year he would have looked better. Wasn't he down to like 11 months and 2 weeks of rest and 2 weeks of contest prep his last year?

Strong hate. Yeah Flex beat Levrone on the bdb, but then again try to find a picture of Flex and Levrone side by side doing a MM (especially that standing up variation). You probably can't, Flex wouldn't let anyone take that picture knowing how bad he'd get owned.

He was investigated for implants by the ifbb, but they didn't find any. Get your facts right

The problem with this thread is I dont think either one of them reached their potential and I dont think either one of them had the heart of a champion. Levrone only trained half the year and Flex was known to be on the lazy side especially with diet.

Flex's physique was pretty near perfect and if you watch the pre judging to the 1999 Grand Prix, Kevin was owned by flex.
Only Ronnie Coleman and Dorian could really beat Flex in a BDB. Kevin wasn't on the same level

exactly. Levrone completely owned Flex in any type of front or side pose which demonstrated muscular thickness (no oil) or width. Flex had a downright poor rear lat spread and side chest and a very average most muscular (no oil)

Flex had one of those physiques where it is easy to pick apart and explain why he isnt among the best. But, there was just something about his overall physique that people liked which is why this debate is going in the first place. I guess the same could be said for Ronnie, its actually quite easy to point to problems in him but most people just like his overall physique like Flex, though I fail to ever see it!

It was the same deal with Arnold as Flex, you could easily break him down and say why he wasnt nearly as good as people say. But at the end of the day its just something overall that people really like. This mysterious attraction so to speak actually seems to be what creates the most fans which is why Flex is so popular.

His physique was extremely aesthetic and pleasing. The lines flow, they look great in a non-specific manner, everything fits beautifully, and there are tons of pictures which support this.

However, from a non-bodybuilding judge point of view, it is an outstanding physique from every angle. From a specifically bodybuilding judge point of view, it is quite easy to pick apart. Find a side chest or a rear lat, and all of a sudden, if you didn't know it was Flex, you'd start thinking "hey, this guy can't be one of the best ever, can he?"

No argument there. I've said it before, Shawn Ray's physique is probably the most proportional one to ever hit bodybuilding (not counting 180lbs guys of course, like I've also said it's sort of easy to be proportional when you're small AND have good genetics AND are on juice, it's when you pull it off while still being big that matters).

Too bad he's such a jerk.

See for yourself. He didn't win the O because he wasn't as big as the likes of Yates and Nasser. But other than that you won't find any flaws.

Oh if you meant if he is a jerk, well many people that met him have said he's too stuck up to talk to fans.
