I've just completed a six week prohormone cycle, and I feel very positive about the gains I've made. I have some questions about how long it will take for my body to lose the intial water weight.
Here are some details --
- Age 34
- I began the cycle at the end of an long dieting phase (almost a year), where I reduced 40 pounds of fat (35% BF to 14) Originally I wanted to get down to 10%, but I felt like my body needed a nice break from a reduced calorie diet.
- Starting weight 205 pounds
- Caloric intake was approx 3400-3600 a day (a bit lower than most suggested, but I was pretty sure that my metabolism was slowed due to the long dieting.) Approx 250-400 gms protein, 600 calories from fat (1/2 from flax), and the rest carbs. The major dietary change was in increasing carbs.
- Dosage was 1250 mg 4Diol and 600mg 19Nor per day
The cycle was 6 weeks, and ending weight was 234 pounds, for a gain of 29 pounds. BF% at the end of the cycle was in the neighborhood of 17%, so my guess is that at least 6-7 lbs of the gain was fat, which is fine with me.
Muscle gains were noticeable, particularly in my legs, which hadn't done serious squats in 12 years. I gained at least an inch in my arms, which really surprised me.
It was obvious during the cycle that I was holding on to a whole lot of water.
So, how long should I expect to wait until I lose the excess water, and any temporary muscle gains?
Thanks for your help. This board has been a tremendous resource for me.

Coming off a prohormone cycle

Well do you want to loose the water? Do go and try and cut or diet again anytime soon. Give your body like a month to stabilize the new mass. What you should also do is take some ZMA before bed at least a half an hour before ingesting anything with calcium. Next you can take creatine too if you want. This will assist in keeping gains. If you want to do another cycle wait at least 8 weeks (the duration of the cycle + two weeks). Over if you are going to loose the water you will notice.
Yup, I'm bigger than you.

Should be, he was on like 1850 mg of the stuff. You really should be careful about stacking large quantities of readily aromatizable compounds like 19Nor as they do indeed increase a number of side-effects, such as water retention, hair loss and acne.Stick to safer prohormones preferably, they are also more active.
I would guess when natural test kicks back in, in 2-3 weeks, your T:E ratio should start to recuperate as well and you'll slowly start releasing some water in less than a month now. That's plenty of time for the mass to stabilize as Iceman calls it. Keep a good anabolic diet, since you now have a low test rate and instable, new mass so you will lose it very easily if you diet now.
After that, just upping water intake can release most of the water and should you desire, you'd be set to continue your diet. Glad to hear you made such good results.

Here's a little bit more info...
I started in on the ZMA on the last week of the cycle, and I'm planning to continue to take the ZMA and creatine for at least the next 4 weeks. I'm down 4 pounds already (stopped taking on Sunday), most of it seems to be water.
I hadn't intended to keep up on the calories, but I will now in order to try to maintain what I've gained.
As for side effects. I definately retained a lot of water, and developed some minor acne, primarily on my forehead.
As for hair loss, it's not a concern because I'm already bald (it runs in the family) so I guess this is one of the advantages along with not having to worry about having to choose a hairstyle!
So, are there other side effects I should be worrying about? I'm bald, I already have enough children, and I'm not overly bothered by temporary acne or excess water retention... Oh yeah, my prostate seems fine.
Also, I had a physical done for life insurance halfway through the cycle -- has anyone heard of unusual results showing up in blood/urine tests? Obviously it's too late for me to worry about, but I'm anxious to see the results anyway.

19Nor might make you test positive for nandrolone, if they are testing for that. Other than that it looks like you have the side-effects covered.
