How does deadlifting increase waist size? how can the pelvis be widened? i dont get it. or is it due to an increase in the obliques which are synergists from deadlifts?

It`s a minimal increase tho , due to increased oblique hypertrophy ( muscles on the side of your abs ), no biggie really

would you estimate maybe 1 inch growth over a year from the start of performing deadlifts?

how much leverage would you give in estimating maximum waist growth when performing deadlifts once a week, heavy for a 1 year plus time frame?

Ok.....let me ask, anyone who has been doing heavy deadlifts for more then 1 year, how big of a waist increase did you get?"When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem begins to resemble a nail."

I lost 2 inches. They probably won't get noticeably bigger for quite some time. Don't let it be an excuse to avoid deadlifting.
i guess ill try them for a while and see what happens

Rick Martel, just stop. You've been exposed as a person who is trying to talk himself out of lifting heavy. I've been doing 2 a days for soccer and still have done an intense bench pressing program which included doing 3 very heavy sets of front squats (on the last one I inadveratantly maxed out) in the middle of the week and still doing a 20 minute endurance run the next morning (I did the squats at about 11:00 at night) that include running up and down a hill. If I can do all of that, you can do deadlifts.
