    "Hardcore" Atkins

I would do (and have done) what I call "Hardcore" Atkins diet. Basically this (my) diet tosses almost all the carbs out the window, meaning eating 5 to 0 carbs a day. I advise to drink atleast one gallon of water throughout the day. You should supplement this diet with Vitamin D 500mg, a little more than 1000mg calcium (I take coral calcium) and 1000mg Vitamin C. It is important to mention that none of the supplements you take should have any kind of carb, I.E. starch, glucose. The diet is affected by the smallest ammount of a simple sugar, so ketchup, relish, A1 sauce or sweet dressings are out of the question. It is my oppinion that artificially sweetened drinks or sweeteners also affect the diet. When this diet is strictly followed weight loss and change in appearance is rapid, almost unbelieveable.

    Typical days eating:

    Breakfast:
Two to four hamburger patties (depending on how hungry you are) with no more than two slices of American cheese (not the prepackaged variety but rather from the deli counter, I like Lando O' Lakes) you can also have mustard with these if you would like.

    Lunch:
One to two cans of tuna (depending on how hungry you are) drained or undrained with one small to medium dill or kosher dill pickle.

    Dinner:
One to two chicken breasts grilled (depending on how hungry you are) with one cup (two cups if you have not had any other carbs at all in the day) of romaine lettuce with any no carb dressing on it I.E. white vingar olive oil and spices, caesar (Kens).

It is important to note that you should not eat after 7:00 PM. For maximum losses you can have no carbs with any two of the meals and two cups of lettuce with one meal.

This diet does have some side effects and how much they are felt depends on the person:

Feeling tired, having to work with less weight in the gym, having to do less reps in the gym.

I personally do not feel tired on the diet at all, usually your body adjusts in 3 to 7 days. If you work out while on this diet muscle loss will be at a minimum however it is very hard to gain muscle or go up in lifting weight while on this diet.

The minimum amount of time to do this diet is two weeks. Two important things to do:
    1) Always read labels!
    2) Buy a book that has all common food values.

    Side notes:

It is possible to further the effects of this diet by counting and cutting calories and fat. Doing that though has a marked increase in loss of energy and and muscle mass. Do not do this unless you have reached a platue in your weight loss for more than 7 days.

    Hope this helps,

    Nelson

    The South Beach Diet

The best diet I have followed is a slight variation of the South Beach Diet.

What I do is follow the basic principles of the diet i.e. LOW GI CARBS (except post workout) and GOOD FATS (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats only, no saturated and trans fats ).

I half follow the initial phase, which lasts a few weeks, in which I severely restrict intake of carbohydrates by eating no grains, with the exception being I still eat fruit. Grains are then slowly introduced to the diet although in smaller amounts than were likely eaten before beginning the diet, with a concentration on foods with a low glycemic index, such as whole grains instead of refined flour. The more strict initial phase may be reinstituted at any time to speed weight loss, but should not be undertaken long enough to induce ketosis.

The thing I like about my variation of the South Beach Diet is that it allows you to eat a variety of foods, and carry a balanced diet, unlike diets such as "Atkins" and "Low fat" diets, while losing bodyfat with minimal loss of muscle mass at the same time.

    Here are two good links:

If you follow a particular diet plan, it is important that you understand it thoroughly and follow it carefully. Here are some important points to consider:

Depending on the diet plan you select and how your body reacts to it, you may not see results as quickly as you would like. Before you begin, make a commitment to stick with the plan for a specified length of time. This will help to ensure that you don't give up prematurely and you will therefore have a greater chance of success.

The formula for the "low calorie diet" described above is based on simply eating fewer calories. If you "slip" or "cheat" and eat extra calories, you can simply eat that many fewer the next day and be back on track. With some other diets the formula is much more complex and straying from the diet plan can change the "chemistry" of the diet and have a much greater effect.

In the text of this website you will read, "The faster you lose weight the more likely you are to put it back on." This is generally true, and in addition losing weight too fast can be unhealthy.
However, some diet plans provide the means to lose weight rapidly by eating highly nutritious foods. Here the degree to which you follow the diet plan can mean the difference between a rapid, healthy weight loss, and a rapid, unhealthy weight loss followed by an unhealthy weight gain.

    Talking Losing weight the quickest..

I believe the Atkin's diet would result in a weight loss quicker than anything else. Maybe something very similar to it would work equally as well. For short term fast fat loss the bottom line is it works. I've done it twice, but I don't recommend it for long periods of time and I don't think people should gorge themselve with bacon and sausage. Ummmm...I need to drop a few pounds after this layoff I've had for the State meeting of Physical Techniques for Managing Aggressive Behavior session late next week. Without bragging, I'll probably be the person in the best shape there as it is, I would look better dropping a few pounds while I train hard the next week. I say without bragging because it would likely be true for any of you faithful lifters that in the average gathering of 25 or 30 people you would likely stand out. But, man, I hate giving up cereal and milk! LOL!

    Bodybuilding givith and bodybuilding takith

You cant really say a certain diet will make one person loose fat fast because everybody is different so different methods will work for different people....plus it depends on what you consider fast...more than 2 pounds a weak is unhealthy and can throw your body in shock. everyone has to chose their own personal diet that is safe and effective.

so that being said we have to get down to the basic principle of gaining fat...CALORIES!! and less of them no more than 10 calories per pound of weight. lossing weight is a procedure and will take time for your body to get used to lowering your calorie intake, so you would have to get your body used to taking in less calories or you will shock your body. and of course less BAD fatning foods (junk food) ...but this doesnt mean you should eat less in fact six meals a day with a low carlorie, *low carb* diet and high in protein is all you need.

*some time befor you exercise is the time you should take in a significant amount of carbs...

obviously you have to work out in order to keep lean body mass or it will just go to waste...now remember that carbs are NOT the enemy!!! complex carbs are an important part of keeping energy levels up while decreasing calories. Lifting just isnt enough though...cardio work outs are a must in a losing diet to burn more calories...running is good but a stand still bike is a better choice i would think.

Multi vitamines are very important here because your body is going through changes and needs the right amount of nutrients...Protein intake should really be increase...at least to 1 1/2 grams per pound of body weight. while we're on the subject of supplementing with protein you should also think about fat loss supplements like anti cortisol, riboflavones or one that worked good for me was the Animal Cuts....along with a lot of water!!

like i said before since we are trying to keep lean mass we should take in a lot of protein ESPECIALY after workouts...but not just protein supplements but anti catabolic supplements like glutamine.

    Thumbs up High Protein Diets

First off Eating small meals and drinking lots of water helps. Avoiding some breads, sweets, most dairy foods, and excess fats and oils will really reduce calories. Low-calorie fruit or vegetable snacks are best. Most Importantly though, simple meals of lean proteins such as chicken, tuna, some types of beef and lots of vegetables provide a great level of nutrients, Also enhance digestion and metabolism, and will cause us to burn more calories and stored fat and will reduce our weight. Developing good eating habits to change our basic diet is the only way to create the body we want.
Here is 5 facts you should know to loose weight!!
    1. Drink a lot of water, water will help the body burn fat.
    2. Eat 4-6 small meals a day, this will help boost the metabilism.
    3. Eat a lot of lean proteins and vegtables, this will help burn fat and build muscle, and also fill you up.
    4. Try losing 2 pounds a weak, anymore is to much and you may be loseing muscle.
    5. Cardio is key, throw in some cardio and watch the extra pounds melt away.
    Hope this is a help!!

Just because of bodybuilding.com, I never want to know about atkins diet or south beach diet. Here on bodybuilding.com I get much info. about training and nutrition, So why should I follow some popular diet. Well I have designed my own diet and did this diet for about 10 weeks which helped me loose high amout of fat and saved my muscles. Following is my diet :

    MEAL 1:
    8 egg whites
2 servings of oatmeal or grits (with fruit, honey, etc.)
    1 protein drink

    MEAL 2:
    2 skinless chicken breasts
    2 plain baked potatoes
    1 serving of broccoli

    MEAL 3:
2 pieces of baked fish or chicken
1 large serving of pasta (plain or with a low-fat sauce)
    1 large salad (with a low-fat dressing - I use lemon juice)
    1 protein drink

    MEAL 4:
2 skinless chicken breasts or red meat
    1 large bowl of rice
    1 banana

    MEAL 5:
    2 servings baked turkey breast
    2 yams or sweet potatoes
    1 protein drink

    MEAL 6:
    8 egg whites
    1 skinless chicken breast
    1 baked potato

Nutition is everything. People should be skilled in nutrition. I suggest you go to www.johnstonefitness.com and see how John loosed that fat and what he says. According to me

    The Atkins Diet

I think the best diet someone can follow is a healthy, balanced diet. Carbohydrates and fats are important and essential for our bodies and health. But what isn't good for our bodies and health is sugar, and saturated fats. This is a big reason why there are so many people with weight problems. People are either taking in the foods which are not enriched with nutrients or they are consuming too much. But when it comes to fast fatloss, a healthy, balanced diet just ain't going to cut it. The best diet for fast fatloss would be the Atkins diet.

Studies have shown that people on a low carbohydrate diet lose more weight than people on a standard weightloss diet. The Atkins concept is a pretty simple one. The first thing our bodies will burn is carbs. After that, we burn fat. Then lastly we burn protein. You may have learned in either chemistry or biology that if someone starves themselves long enough their body eats off of itself. Basically, since they have no carbs or fats, the body is eating the muscle tissue (the protein) of the person. The Atkins diet is a low carb, high protein diet. Now by elimintating the carbs, your body's first primary energy source will be fat. This is the main idea of why the Atkins diet burns fat fast.

I'm fully aware that everyones body works differently, but I know many people who have lost tremendous weight while on the Atkins diet. I myself have tried it and was very impressed. A good healthy, balanced diet will never go wrong, but for fast fatloss, Atkins is the king.

    Disadvantage of atkin's diet.

If you do not stay committed to the diet, the possibility of regaining the weight you lose is present. Although the diet seems very simple, it is a big commitment, and some may lose focus of the diet. The diet is also high in cholesterol and saturated fats. Remember, there are good fats and bad fats, and in any diet, your goal should always be to maximize the good fats and minimize or eliminate the bad ones. The diet is also low in vitamins in minerals.

With the ever increasing availability and cheapness of fatty foods, combined with the integration of machines into society to do what would otherwise be manual jobs, it is no surprise that the world, particularly the Western Nations, are becoming increasingly obese, and that fat-loss is now a multi-billion dollar industry.
Fat-loss, with minimal loss of muscle, is of critical importance to a bodybuilder, since after a bulking cycle, where the athlete will have gained muscle, and as a result an amount of fat also, the fat will be required to be lost, to get the bodybuilder in peak physical shape, with as much definition as possible, for competition day. It is also the aim of the bodybuilder to retain muscle; else the bulking cycle would have been a waste of time.
As one should be aware, the loss of weight is due to an intake of calories less than those expended. This can be brought about be eating less calories, and exercising to burn more calories. In this article I will focus on the diet part of fat-loss, though I will firstly state that cardio, particularly High Intensity Interval Training, is advised, since it increases the metabolism, and burns fat effectively. The following points on diet should point you in the right direction as to lose fat and retain muscle. I have decided to refrain from mentioning too specifically any specific diet, since some people tend to respond differently to certain diets compared to others. These points should be of use to anyone intending to lose fat:

    Eat sufficient protein
Since protein is required to build and repair muscles, it is no surprise that you must eat enough protein to retain muscle. Foods high in protein are also proved to be more filling than those high in carbohydrates and fat, causing you to consume less calories overall. Some foods high in protein, while low in fat are: tuna, white meat, etc. Remember to ensure your body gets protein when it needs it most – after a workout and before bed.

Avoid foods high in saturated fat
The big one. Obviously, if you want to lose fat, you’ll want to consume as little fat as possible. So stay away from it. Look up the nutritional details of foods you are not sure about before eating them, and always opt for the low-fat option whenever possible. Admittedly, a little fat is required for the body to function correctly, but this is easily attainable from the small amounts of fat you’ll be sure to eat throughout the day.

Keep a log of your meals
Keeping a log of what you consume, complete with nutritional data, means you can efficiently keep track of what you are eating, and make sure you conform to your diet plans. Use a free online journal like www.fitday.com. Fitday will also allow you to work out how many calories you are burning per day, so you can set yourself a target number of calories to consume (if you want to lose fat, below the amount you burn).

    drink water
Water fills you up, keeps your body hydrated, and boosts your metabolism. All in all, it is essential for efficient fat loss. It is also the major component in muscle, and so is required to keep your muscles looking ‘full’, as well as promoting additional muscle growth.

Watch what sort of carbohydrates you consume
Try and stay away from simple sugars – these are basically empty calories which supply little nutritional goodness, while are able to be easily converted into fat while in the body. Try and eat carbs with a low glycaemic index, to keep blood sugar levels under control. Remember to get enough energy inside you though when you hit the gym, or you might feel tired and sluggish, and end up not working out to maximum effectiveness.

    Look into supplements
If you have a hard time losing weight, it may be worth looking into supplements like hydroxycut. In order to keep this article short, and since there is plenty of documentation into it already, I’d rather not go into it here. Another useful supplement in fat-loss is caffeine. It causes the body to produce a substance called epinephrine, which causes the body’s fat stores to be burnt in preference to glycogen stores in the liver. Since the amount of caffeine in a cup of coffee is negligible compared to the amount required in this process, it may be wiser to invest in some caffeine pills, rather than heading down to Starbucks.

    Watch when you eat
It is a general rule not to consume anything after 6pm while cutting, except a protein shake, since in the next few yours you are likely to be sleeping, and so not requiring much energy. Hence, the food taken in at this time is likely to be just stored in the body. Also try and eat 6 or so small meals throughout the day, instead of three big ones, since this supplies your body with a constant stream of nutrients to put to use, instead of flooding it with fat and carbs at certain times, then starving it at others. In addition, try and get a good breakfast inside you, with slow-burning carbs which can be used throughout the day. Most bodybuilders eat oats for breakfast, for this reason. If you don’t like the taste, you can look up some great recipes on bodybuilding.com, which will be sure to make them more palatable!

In conclusion, if you follow these simple rules stated above, you’ll be able to lose weight accordingly. Though I have not stated an exact eating plan, it should be simple for you to use your own initiative, and put together a diet based on the food’s nutritional content, what you have access to, and what you enjoy. I’d recommend you stay away from any miracle diets – if they seem too good to be true, they are. Also I personally don’t like diets which cut out specific groups of foods, I believe the key point to remember is to keep a balanced diet. Remember to always keep focused on your goals, keep positive, and stick with it. You can do it!

As I may agree with you to an extent, I still think it is the best for fast fatloss. Maybe it is low on vitamins and minerals, and is a big commitment, and maybe you do gain the weight back faster. But nevertheless, it remains to be the most effective IMO.

definetly the best way to loose weight it to do the following

    Breakfast:
Taco Bell: 2 soft tocos, 2 hard tocos, with hot or fire sause, and a medium drink (only water, dont want those extra calories)

    Lunch:
Burger King: 2 woppers, small fries and a small drink (water)

    Dinner:
KFC: get some fried chicken, i'd say about 4 legs and 3 wings, some potatoes and a small salad

*** inbetween each of those drink a protein shake, 20-40 grams of whey protein

in about 3 weeks, you'll look like a new person
