I just started doing side lunges with barbell. I am doing them to build better explosive power for sport. Does anyone have detail that explains proper form? Or some quality illustrations of this exercise?
When I lunge out, my leg that I keep in place seems to get a little pressure on the knee. I am wondering if maybe I should sort of point my toes out and shift to the heel of my foot(the one that stays in place) as I lunge out with the other leg.
I don't think the pressure is great, but I don't want to put a lot of unnecessary stress on ligaments as I get stronger with the exericise.

P.S.
I found this guy, but I think his form is wrong too ... plus he uses dumbells with little weight .. I use barbell and higher weight than this dude. Plus, just looking at him I am not so sure I want to take his advice.
