I've been taking a glutamine supplement for some time- Glutacell- which is supposedly more stable and digests more efficiently. I was wondering if anyone knows the 'perfect' timing to take glutamine. I know that because of its anti-catabolic effects, it can be helpful to take before/after a workout and before bed to help stave off muscle catabolism overnight. Anyone know if taking it in the morning would help with anti-catabolism during the day?

so if glutamine does nothing, then why does glutamine make up 2/3 of all amino acids???
it helps with recovery, brain function, and your immune system feeds off of it.
the only 2 times that you become deficient in it is when your body is under stress, ie. when your sick and when your working out.
i prefer to take creatine just b4 and after my workouts, and you shouldn't take creatine and glutamine too close together because they well fight for absorbtion.
I take a glutamine/nos combo by metrx right away in the morning on an exmpty stomach, which has 10 gr of gluatamine, and 5 gr more in the evening.
also, if when u take gluatmine by itself, if it gives u an upset stomach that is because it reacts with the acid in your stomach, so just take it with some milk or bread, etc.

You already get plenty of glutamine if you consume whey and eat a high protein diet.

good to know. judging from that id say that it may be worth while when cutting (if your cutting a ton of cals) otherwise it appears to be a waste of money

Just some info i found reading around, seems like glutamine is beneficial maybe even more than creatine, what do you guys think? Considering the fact that creatine mostly gives you some energy and retains water in your muscles, which one would be a better bang for your buck?

this thread is pointless, like I say in every other glutamine thread. because the people who dislike glutamine refuse to not just state what i am about to state "Some people like glutamine some people don't. I like it and use it( or if you don't just fill it in) the best way is to try it yourself, use it for a few months, if you don't like it don't buy it again" Now was that, that hard? I love you guys but some of you think you know everything and refuse to be just alittle wrong.
