    Lightbulb Tip for Calf Training

    Many people struggle with their calves in regard to hypertrophy. A tip I will give you all is to not wear shoes while you do your calf exercises.

    Of course, if your gym is crowded and the machine is right in the middle of the floor I would not recommend doing them barefoot or with socks. If your gym is always crowded when you go, sneak some dumbbells over to a corner in your gym and do your calf raises on a stair or just on the floor. I bet you'll feel a much better burn from the added ROM.

    yea I tried doing that one time, but I found that it hurt my feet too much. Maybe I should keep at it and build up a tolerance to it though......

    I do my calf raises barefoot at home with a dip belt. Feels good, just a bitch to set it all up.

    Another tip: when you rise up onto your toes, focus on pushing up onto your big toe and not spreading the load over your other toes. You'll find it will bite much more.
