It's all good for cutting. It has casein, slow releasing protein. Other guys can explain in more detail. I'll just say that I eat it while cutting. Heck, I just had a cookie and I'm cutting.

Wtf are you talking about. 1/2 cup of cottage cheese has 13g protein with only 5g carbs. I don't know about you, but thats a tiny amount of carbs for the amount of protein.

oh well if that's the ratio then Nevermind. I thought that this cheese is like any typical dairy product and has carb overload(like milk, 12 grams carbs for every 8 grams protein).

I agree with pumpiron29. Cottage cheese is a great source of protein; just get the fat free and you should be ok.

i dont know about the rest of you, but i cant stand the taste of plain cottage cheese, i have to put it in a shake. If you are the same as me , watch out what you mix it with (if your trying to cut) in the shake. Dont be putting alot of milk, ice-cream when cutting...

Typically the fat in diary products is the really bad kinds of fat. That's why most bodybuilders stick to the low fat kinds of cottage cheese. On top of that, they don't supplement the taste with loads of sugar, so this is a pretty good low fat product.

Cottage cheese is fine for contest prep or in your case "cutting". Cottage cheese is very low in carbs and high in proetin. 16g. of protein and if memory serves me correct, 1g. of carbs per half cup serving. Canned tuna is another excellent "cutting" food as it generally has 0g. of carbs per can and roughly 20-25g. of proetin. (depending on the brand that you buy) Stay away from regular cheese though.
I should very much like to throw my glass at you sir but I shant for I fear that I will spill an ounce of more of my beer and that would sadly defeat the purpose of revenge because I will have suffed the loss of but one ounce of my precious firewater.

I agree hooty, low fat diets suck. There are better choices of fats out there, however (although all fats hold properties that are beneficial - saturated fats are linked with higher T levels!). It's just, you don't want all your fats from saturated sources.

So I'm a "dumbo" eh? As long as you're not taking in crazy amounts of sodium in your other foods, cottage cheese is fine. It's an excellent "cutting" food. Why is it an excellent cutting food? It's an excellent cutting food because it's high in protein, low in carbs. As I mentioned already, as long as you watch your salt intake you're fine. Think before you speak.
