If you're going to buy a Harley calendar (those of us who ride and like them) buy it at Wal Mart, not online.

Not in the market for a bike right now, but I'll get one for sure once I'm done with Uni.
Something I've noticed in Australia is that there aren't many Hondas for sale. The weirdest thing. You'd think there'd be tons of them. There's also a lot of GS500s and KLR650s going for sale for some odd reason.

What are your thoughts on the new Honda CB 1000R?
Also, anyone looking for good leather jacket/suit hangers get the Pit bull hangers when they go on sale at SBTG, grabbed 2 for 10 bucks each and they are SOLID.rumpler of stiltskins

just went to check out a gsxr 750. price was good and seemed fine in the ad. got there and found several electrical problems among other problems. mechanically it seemed fine. people need to be more descriptive and honest in the ads. but i get why its done. would have took it on the spot if it was right.

So I'm about to do my on road MSF test to get my license. I have zero riding experience, so those 10 hours will be all the experience I have when I go to get my first bike. While there is a dealer that has the bike I'm interested in 15 minutes away (suzuki vstrom 650xt), they appear to all be very new 2018-2019 models and are more expensive. On the flip side, there's a 2017 model I'd like but it's at a dealer an hour away.
Is riding my first bike an hour into/through a busy city with only the training course under my belt a good/bad idea? I suppose I'll have a better idea once I complete the course. Part of me thinks I'd like nothing more than to have an excuse to ride it. Part of me thinks I should ease into it. I imagine there will be some highway involved from the place an hour away. Though I suppose I could use the avoid highways option on google maps.Last edited by Wazooty; 02-26-2019 at 12:18 PM.

we almost there boyos. did a few things to my bike past few days. took off most of the fairings and repainted. most of the white parts now gloss black. i couldnt take off the tank cover. my damper had security screws that i couldnt take out. i really wanted to change out the air filter and paint the cover. i did install steel braided lines and bled them in. feels firmer by just pressing the lever. didnt get a chance to ride and test it out yet. but looks and feels good.

been out of the game for about 4 years now, I had a 05' R6 and I've been looking at the 2015 R1's lately, I haven't seen any for sale locally yet but im hoping they'll turn up in the spring, sucks cuz all my friends have sold their bikes so i'd be solo, but I still think i'll have fun riding alone

rode around for about 10 miles yesterday. pretty cold but still wanted to. braking wasnt what i was expecting in the beginning. its ok. i must have gotten some liquid on the rotor or pads or something.was cleaning it too before. it got better the more i kept braking. probably cooking it off or adding pad material back to the rotor. its def much better than before now without the old rubber lines. much firmer squeeze at the back end since it doesnt flex like before. never tried ebcs even though everyone raves about them. ill check em out on the next set.

My bike (first one) should be getting dropped off at my place sometime this week, depending on how long it takes dealer to get license plates on it.
Excited as hell, but just going to take my time getting used to it in slow nearby neighborhoods before doing anything serious.
While it will no doubt be lots of fun, I got it to do chit with. Don’t care about speed or wheelies or any of that. Got an ADV bike, but I kinda approach it with the sensibilities of a heavy duty, load bearing scooter, in terms of utility. Gets me and my stuff where I need to go. Only reason I even decided to get a bike was because of how well ADV bikes matched with what I wanted functionally (and looks) wise; if they weren’t a thing I doubt I’d even want to ride in the first place.
If anyone in/around Boston sees a total noob (I took the course but still) on a white Suzuki V-Strom 650, it’s probably me.Last edited by Wazooty; 03-18-2019 at 06:19 PM.
