the highschool football thread?
I play football. I'm a running back and linebacker.
I played both positions last year, but since I'm going to varsity I will only play running back.

I'm in canada so I don't know how it works but I'm going into grade 11 and I'm a running back.
Oh yeah and people say I'm small, I know, I'm trying to gain weight in muscle this summer but I can't use whey so it's hard for me. In about a week or two I'm going to someone though that might be able to fix my allergy. I'm hoping it works

Position: ILB
Level: Starting Varsity
What are you doing: Well, an off-season program, except harder than anyone else. Lifting, running, cardio, diets. All that jazz. I have to be stronger and more technically sound than everyone, considering my size.**********************

I'm 5'8-5'9, 230lbs, 17yrs, going to be a senior, look at my bodyspace for lifting stats and whatnot.
Offensively, I'll most likely be playing Guard(unless by a rare chance coach lets me try fullback).
Defensively, right now whatever I want besides being a DB realistically. I want to try linebacker, but coaches might keep me at nose/D-tackle seeing as how I'm one of the best one the team at those spots. I might play D-End because that is what I did the latter part of last year.
Special Teams wise, I'll be doing alot.
I'll be starting varsity too.

Hard Nutrition Supplements Are The Best!!!
I have been taking HARD Nutritions supplements for over a year now and they are the best. If you are a athlete especially football player this is company for you. They have evrything you would want from joint pain to unbelievable strength gains. They sponsor some of the best athletes in the world most notably Joseph Addai of the colts. The best thing about this company is the take time to individualize and custumize programs for anyone at no cost. All you have to do is email them at info@hardnutrition.com and tell them what you want to do and they will get in contact with you, and they will give 50% off the supplements for being a new custumer. Pretty good deal, trust me they are legit and I am actually a nfl player myself and love what they are doing..

coming into 11th grade next year. I'll be starting at tackle or guard, its gonna depend and possibly DT. Whether i play guard or not is going to depend on the speed of the other lineman. We got one really good guard but the rest is depending so i'll either be guard or tackle.
been doing a lot of conditioning lately. Coming out of my weight lifting routine for a few weeks then going back to it this summer.Last edited by dalywm; 05-28-2007 at 07:27 PM.

im gonna be a junior next year. Runningback, Linebacker/D-end...depends on what my coach feels. Im gonna start running 2 miles every morning and hit the weights hard with a workout my coach provided us. On V, would be starting if our runningbacks we have now werent 2 of the best in state.

1. I go to a school with 600 people. It's not like we have a 100+ football team. We should have a round 60-70 this year in all, with about 30 playing JV. That leaves 30-40 people playing varsity and most of the ones that sit the bench are just bodies. Not real players.
2. We have a really young team, with only 7 seniors and I think about 5 Juniors. We should have about 4-6 sophomores starting this year. Yes, a lot of our players go both ways, it's not big deal.
3. I worked my ass of to start. I trained hard, never backed down from scout team in practice, and took a lot of licks to get where I am.
4. Sorry to be blunt on this one, but I'm very good.**********************

For some reason first time I read through I remember there being alot more sophmore starting varsity posts.
Didn't mean to offend you as much as I guess I did, it's not very typical in HS for sophmores to start varsity. I mean, practicing varsity is more believeable. Sucks to have so few juniors and seniors, hope ya guys pull through. Good luck on the season.

Thanks and it's really my fault. I shouldn't have gotten as defensive as I did. But our school is small enough to where every one(freshman included) practice varsity and maybe 1-2 start(rare, me and this other kid were the only freshman who started last year and that was only for one game when the guys in front of us got hurt). But yeah, I really shouldn't have gotten all that defensive.

I lettered varsity three years in High School as a DE and OL and TE (sometimes) it would have been 4 years but i blew my knee half way through the season of my Junior year. I am headin up to Minnesota State playin OT and have already went from weighin 250-290lbs and am tryin to get up to 300 by the end of the summer with losing fat at the same time. My 40, pro-agility, and vertical have suffered a little but nothin a couple of days a week of movement training can conquer. if you guys have any questions about college recruiting on what to do and what not to do....you would be suprised. Just ask me and i will fill ya in.
6'5" 290lbs=YES I WILL EAT YOUR CHILDREN!!!
