unless you have seen one in person next to you while you were riding a bike also you would not believe what those things can do with a turbo on them

    Learned on a 600cc w/no probs..

Edit: Not this one ^ My first was an older beat up zx-6r, I would NOT recommend buying a new bike to learn on, trust me.. even if you dont go down in the first couple of months, chances are good that you will make little mistakes like it falling over and ect. My first one did anyways..

There's nothing wrong with the 250 (or the 500). Ignore what all the jerk-offs say. Ask anyone whose REALLY ridden bikes, 100+hp bikes, and they'll tell you that the 250 is a very light and capable bike, if you know how to rev it. Bang for buck, great bike. Besides, for $3000 you can get very comfortable with it very fast, knowing its a lot more disposable than a 10k bike.

Unfortunatley in Aus we can only get 250cc bikes on the first year of the licence. Then have to do another test before we are allowed an unrestricted licence.
So im stuck with my honda VTR 250. Great bike though. I prefer nakeds and classics. BSA DBD34 Gold Star, one of the greatest motorbikes ever made.

My first one was a Ninja 500...for $5k it was right on the mark for me.
Now I have a FZ6, exactly what I want/need...part sport, part cruiser, pure power when I need it. Same engine as the R6 but more mid-range torque. I dont think I'll ever want/need a liter bike...too much for me.

We just had a guy lose his life for not buckling his helmet. His funeral will be Wednesday. I know I used to like leaving it like that at times. After hearing about his helmet pop off, then die, I'm encouraged to not do that anymore.
I'm also wearing more gear now, mainly because I'm seeing how frequently cars are completely ignoring me, cutting me off, and I am also getting more 'brave' with things I do on my bike at the same time. +2

bulldog, i'm glad you've decided to start wearing more gear now. i hope others will realize and follow suit.

a quote that i always say to myself before i ride is "sweat dries faster than road rash heals." interpret that quote anyway you like, but remember that if any of you go down without gear....well i can't say much to you except that you learned the lesson the hard way.

Lol at the guy that posted "busas are the best bikes". I ride with busa guys all the time, on the freeway my busa friends are untouchable but in the canyons on my 600(r6) i lead all the time.
+1 to the wear your gear. I wrecked about 7 weeks ago and if i would have had knee protection i would have got up unscathed.

Now I have a FZ6, exactly what I want/need...part sport, part cruiser, pure power when I need it. Same engine as the R6 but more mid-range torque. I dont think I'll ever want/need a liter bike...too much for me.
how do you like the FZ6? I want to get one after I get better on my cruiser. Looks like a sick bike and the seating seems better than leaning. Anything you dont like about it?
