There are 2 camps when it comes to Muscle Milk. Personally, I don't think the taste is worth the sketchy ingredient profile.
Ingredients: EVOPRO(TM) Our Custom Evaluation based protein, peptide, and amino acid matrix, designed to closely reflect the nitrogen components and ratios found in human mother's milk (Micellar Alpha and Beta Casiens and Cassienates, Whey concentrates, rich in Alpha-Lactalbumin, Whey Isolates, Whey Peptides, Purified Bovine Colostrum Extract rich in Secretory IgA and IGF-1, Glutamine Peptides, L-Taurine, Lactofemin). LEANLIPIDES(TM) Lipid complex selected for thermogenic and unique energy properties (<b>Canola Oil</b>, BETAPOL (TM) [Enzyme Engineered Polyunsaturated Long-Chain Vegetable Oils] MCT's, L-Carnitine), <b>Maltodextrin</b>, CYTOVITE I(TM), Vitamin and Mineral premix consisting of (Vitamin A acetate, cholecalciferol, d-alpha-tocopherol acetate, ascorbic acid, folate, thiamine monohydrate, riboflavin, niacinamide, pyrodoxine HCL, cyanocobalamine, biotin, pantothenic acid, di-calcium phosphate, potassium iodide, potassium chloride, ferrous fumerate, magnesium oxide, copper gluconate, and zinc oxide), gum arabic, ENDOCREATINE (TM) our proprietary, patent pending endogenous creatine precursor (Glycocyamine, betaine anhydrous, SAMe [S-Andenosylmethionine]), Natural and Artificial flavors, lecithin, sucralose.
The combination of fats and high GI carbs is the first thing that scares me off. Think donuts and you'll get the picture. Also, a high calorie diet (the only type of diet where Muscle Milk could be used) does not reap the benefits of MCTs. Along the same lines, it appears that ingesting carbohydrates and MCTs simultaneously defeats the benefits of MCT oxidation for energy. i'm sure i'd have that mag-cover body if i forced myself to down all the crappy tasting shakes... but i'm coming along better than i ever thought, and muscle-milk has helped tremendously.
my take on it is, no matter how great a product might be, it cannot work if it just sits in the cupboard. muscle-milk may not have elevated my physical goals like perhaps other protein shakes could, but it hasn't made me fat either.
i like the taste. (banana creme, orange creme, blueberries/cream, cookies/cream) and it certainly beats "nothing at all".

since when are good fats and micellar casiens considered sketchy? muscle milk tastes GREAT and can do a lot for gaining solid mass.

For what it's worth, I would disagree with the earlier post that says EvoPro tastes as good as Muscle Milk. The sample I tried at the Arnold were pretty weak. Nowhere near as good as Muscle Milk. Not bad, but not in the same ballpark tastewise. Kind of like how everyone raved about the Detour bars, saying "they taste just like a Snickers!." No, they didn't. For a protein bar, they tasted great, but nowhere close to the real thing.
