Thread: Whey! - How many tablespoons for for 10 grams

1. Whey! - How many tablespoons for for 10 grams

I recently bought a bucket of "Strive" whey protein ISO...
This will be my first time using whey supplement, and I'm wondering how I can measure x number of grams with a tablespoon.

I read somewhere that 2 tablespoons of whey is = to 10 grams of whey.

Is this accurate?

2. 1 tblspoon of anything = 5 grams 2 = 10 etc..

Are you fucking serious? Im not sure if I should be laughing or crying.

4. 1tbsp = 15grams

5. thanks!

so would 4 tablespoons of whey powder be equivalent to 50 grams?

About, but you have to realize these results are being rounded.

that post is just so wrong on so many levels lol.....

youre thinking of a teaspoon...... and its not "of anything" a tablespoon of light fluffy powder wont weigh the same as a tablespoon of sand

8. a tablespoon isnt always 15g either people.... get this through your head. different powders have different densities. for example a tablespoon of creatine may be about 15grams but a tablespoon of BCAA may only be 6g

the 5g/15g values you see on your spoon apply to water, and most liquids. but oil for instance is only 14g per tablespoon because it is less dense.

just get a scale!!

OP didnt the protein tub come with a scoop?

9. yea ma bad.. i dont know what the fuk i was thinkin wen i posted that.. calm down though Dave i dont want u to start crying.. goddamn some people round here need to seriously pry the 2 x 4 from their ******* or get laid or sumthin.. ****..

a 70cc scoop usually yields 30 grams of protein powder. 70cc = 70ml = 4.66 or 4 and 2/3 of a tablespoon will yield approx 30g of protein powder, and depending on if its iso or concentrate or whatever that may yield 24-28g protein

dont listen to what anyone else said lol

and no, it didn't come with a scoop. It' a rather small bucket.

I guess I'll go to back to the store later on to buy one.

just use the measurements i gave in my last post.... 4 and 2/3 tbsp = 30g.... 5 tablespoons is probably 32g....

dont go back and buy a scoop, if anything go back and buy a digitial scale

15. ok

i measured my tablespoon, which can hold only 10ml of water... tablespoons usually hold 15ml, no?

if I'm using a 10ml spoon, how many 10ml spoons of whey powder is equal to 10 grams? or whatever?

a 70ml scoop = 30g protein powder

youre not too good at math are you? lol

that would be 7 X 10 ml spoon to get 30g protein powder

how do you know that the spoon is only 10ml though?

he has a calibrated graduated cylinder in his kitchen, duh.

18. btw, has anyone ever heard of this brand of whey? - "Strive Pro-ISO"

also, when I'm scooping the powder with my spoon, do I fill up the spoon to make a flat surface? or should there be like a little hill?

19. I'm so stupid

OMG... the thing came with a scoop after all... I just didn't realize it until I dug into the bucket deeper... lol

Lmao.. Yeah, you should try using a butter knife, and poke around until you find it. Butter knife goes though the powder easy, and it won't stick to it

LOL

22. Hold on a minute! Lets not mix up mass & volume . . .

Say want 2 know how many grams of protein in 4 tbsp of protein powder.

Well, it's a 2-step conversion process. Tablespoons r a volume measure, which relates 2 typical protein powder serving sizes, which are in cc, as follows:

1 cc = 0.0676280451 US tablespoons

so 4 tablespoons = 4/.06763 = 59.1 cc

Now look at ur protein powder label & see how many grams protein r in what serving size (cc's) & convert.

Say it's 25g protein in 70 cc, like my ON whey, then u finish off the calculation as follows:

4 tbsp ON whey = 59.1*25/70 = 21.1g protein

23. Remember, there is ALWAYS a scoop . . .

25. Strive Pro-iso

I am a rep for STRIVE. We are a new brand in the Canadian Market... STRIVE comes from Pivitol Brands aka Upper49th Imports. Upper49th is the Canadian Distributor of Optimum, MHP, SAN, VPX, and Isatori.

STRIVE PRECISION NUTRITION will be relasing more great products in the future - the next being PRO-VIT - Athlete Performance Vitamin/Mineral/BCAA Pak.

You have the 2.5lb.. I recommend you purchase the 8lb next time as you will save the most money that way in the end.
