Doubting BodyBuilding

I'm 215 8% body fat and 6,1 im very well huge for my age since im only 18. I've been training for 2 years and have a body that is really well developed.

I've loved bodybuilding since the beginning I started except lately i have been feeling depressed about it I feel that it's un neccesary and that Im a show off. I try not to show off but I always get comments from my friends saying like "LOOK AT ARNIE OVER THERE"

and "MUSCLE HEAD" and **** like that.. I work out cause I love it not to get attention you know?


anyone have this happen to them before let me know!!

people will always do that no matter what because they are jealous. If you won 10 million in the lottery and quit your job eveyone would be calling you lucky boy or somthing like that but who cares? just like winning alot of money getting a good body is a positive thing and you shouldnt let some people take it away from you because they are jealous.

Sounds like they're jealous to me. I get good comments on my body, cause I've made good progress...but then some mates might just say I want attention or something, but there's nothing wrong in showing people that you've been working out, if they don't like it f*ck em', cause it's their problem not yours!

i was on my way home today and my friend goes "gonna take some roids tonight tommy?" (he is a bodybuilder too)

Also, in accounting, i objected to something the teacher said and this guy i always arm wrestle and joke around with goes "ohh shut up tom go inject some steroids into ur dick" lol. we just joke around about ****.. take it easy dude..

I get that stuff in school alllll the time, like "hey __ , whats that your eating? Roids?" I like it, cuase hey, i worked hard for this body, its nice to be respected for it.

Do u know wat just let them be. When I was in school and I'd get angry or something all the other guys would always be like roid rage they were all idiots. When it came down to it, they were skinny ass kids and I was bigger then them. They are just upset that u have something for the girls to look at and they have squat. Take it with a grain of salt

ahaha very well put, i guess its just the fact that it puts all the attention on you, its like you'll be standing there and out of no where some one will be like "whoa nice arm size buddy" and everyone looks at ur ****ing arms when u just wanna be left alone. Bodybuilding isnt like hockey or something bodybuilding really stands out and a lot of people don't understand it. It just sucks that people have to single you out and stereotype just because ur bigger and stronger.

My friends are always asking me how much I bench, etc., why I have to eat all the time, why I won't eat bread anymore, and why I stick my chest out when I walk (I don't but these guys don't seem to get that).

Girls always ask me why I put on weight so fast and tell me I'm depressed because I eat very often.

Just ignore it. After all, we all criticize what we don't understand. I'm sure you have done the same to someone else who does something you're not interested in.

yeah and they keep on going, you shouldnt mind it though if its from friends, but today I was called a meat head for the first time ever... kinda makes ya feel like crap for some reason, but dont worry about it, just go with it, its more fun that way in my opinion, but certainly dont let it stop you from bodybuilding if you enjoy it and want to continue doing it as a profession or just to stay fit or help with a sport you play, dont spend all ur time in the gym though, you miss life like that..

Wait until you're 21 years old. My passion has almost completely died out thanks to school and books. I still enjoy these boards and hearing people talk about their problems. I think it's fairly common..As you get older your priorities change.

Being called a muscle head is bad, it's saying that ur dumb. But I wouldn't worry about it unless ur like some guys that think being big and muscular gives them an excuse to be dicks to everyone because they can or they think they are untouchable because they're huge. I'm not big but I've noticed big guys that are real nice and big guys that think they're the s#it, and the nice guys don't deserve to be disrespected but in my opinion these other guys do. And friends do that not just because they're jealous but because ur different and it gives them to pick at otherwise u'd be like them and they couldn't say anything. They probably feel bad that they don't have the determination that u do so they make it seem like ur not as good as them trying to make themselves feel better. Don't worry if they ever needed u to cover there back they won't be making fun of u for having muscle.

Only reason I doubt bodybuilding is because it doesn't focus on improving my crappy squat and bench!!
