When doing a lying tricep extension (skull crusher), is there any difference with using a barbell vs. a curl bar (the barbell with a kink)? Does it work a slightly different angle, etc? Thanks.

Mostly just for comfort. Most people get sore wrists from the straight bar which is eleviated with the curl bar.
Also, for a different feel, do skull crushers with a reverse grip. I almost like these better.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
