I'm curious how many women work their traps directly. Men, take notice, you are in the Female forum, and I am asking for females to respond. Thanks

I voted yes. I'm currently working mine directly until I see something I don't like about it. I really haven't seen too many women with overly developed traps and I don't know if it's because they don't work them directly or because of our lack of testosterone. I'm completely inexperienced though, so I'm trying things out to see how I like them....

I don't work mine directly either. They actually grow quite easily and get plenty of stimulation from heavy compound stuff like deadlifts, clean and presses and barbell rows.

I do shrugs on my shoulder days, but I have started to become a little concerned about my traps. They are starting to get defined a little and I am not sure that big traps will look good on me (I am pretty broad shouldered as it is). But I hesitate to not work them because I want to keep my workout balanced. I have just been sticking with the same weight I started with, which is getting easier and easier. Should I skip doing traps every other week or something?
(I do most of the big compund movements as well)

I do work my traps...as heavy as I can. It only seems to add definition to my body. None of my muscles are overly big. I suppose women who are on anabolic agents would have to be more concerned with "overbulking" traps, forearms, etc. But I suppose it also depends on the individual?? just my 2 cents.

I'm natural, alway have been, and my traps grew out my shirt with regular heavy training. Then again, the women in my family have broad shoulders and big arms.
I hit a front double biceps pose the other day and noticed my trap development has vanished. I'm back training them one a week to get my balance back.

Like you, I'm natural and always have been and also like you, my traps and shoulders have always responded well to heavy training. I guess we're lucky genetically in that area.Retired strongwoman and powerlifter. Now living for God!
