Its an advanced move, you should do lots of weighted pullups, and one handed negatives. Obviously focus on pure strength gains. And do not gain any weight. Check this site out, www.beastskills.com <---------go to tutorials

I am really into chin-ups and pull-ups, and I am always going for the one-armed pull up long term. I can currently do about 12 dead hang pull-ups, and not one solid one armed one. i have been practicing for nearly one year, so it takes a LOT of time honestly.
use the assisted pull-up machine with one arm. do it with your left and your right in sets.
also do many many two-armed pull-ups including with the chain belt and weight, if you're serious about ever being able to come close to one armed pull-ups.
and by my standard of form, i'm saying you might be able to hit around 15 straight pull-ups before you can even do 1 great one-armed one. pulling all your bodyweight up with just one arm is some feat, especially if you're just hanging and not using legs.

ok great, thanks.
the reason I was first wondering was because one of my irl friends who doesnt even lift, and is skinnier than me(and Im pretty skinny), is able to do a 1 armed pullup without the help of the other arm.
i was pretty amazed since he doesn't lift...but w/e.
it may have to do with the fact that he's black...(no racist)

They are pretty hard.. I got a video of me doing one on my profile on here lol.. back before i started lifting I could get 5 in a row with each hand.. the video on my profile i only got 1 but I had just done like 60 pullups before taking that video so thats why..
they are hard on your elbow though so I don't do them anymore.. not really any use except to show off lolWeighted pullups = 195 lbs x1
Weighted dips = 225 lbs x2
Squat = 405 x2

wait what??
you could do 5 in a row with each hand before lifting???
ok, well then lol...that kind of nullifies my whole point on my friend...
dang you and my friend and so many others have much better strength genetics than me.
I couldn't even do a single pullup at 145 lbs before I started lifting 3.5 months ago...I can now do 3 sets, 8, 8, 5...

maybe.. I think I permanently injured my joint in my left elbow from doing one tbh. there really is absolutely no reason to do them really. Do weighted pullups if you want to go for overall strength in pullups, thats what I do.. I actually tore my right lat about a month ago like a small tear in the upper outside edge right below the shoulder it sucks. I can't even do 1 bodyweight pullup still without feeling pain there.. I normally warm up but i was pretty hyped up the day I was lifting and hurt it lol I was doing full upper body and then a lower body day well I did chest first, then I went straight to weighted pullups and just put on 90 without doing even 1 warmup set with no weight and fuked it up.. learned my lesson there I guess..

When i first joined the army i was capable of doing around 5 one armed pullups but they really ****ed up my shoulders to the point where stuff like benching still causes problems all these years later. It's not a particularly useful lift and places way too much pressure on your shoulders.
Live dangerously and you live right.
