Question 13 weeks out pics for 1st natural show, am I on track?

This is the start of my 3rd week of dieting. I've lost about 4.5lbs so far which according to Laynes guide is about right. I now weigh 191lbs.

Those of you with competition experience please take a look at my pics.

How am I doing? Am I on track for my first show in July?

I know my posing sucks but I've never really posed before, this is somthing I'll be working on a lot from about 10 weeks out.

Just as a note: I haven't done any cardio yet as I've been consistently losing the right amount of weight (1-1.5lbs) per week without cardio. I was thinking I'd wait for my weight loss to start to slow down before I start the cardio. Does this sound like the right approach?

I can't get anyone to take pics for me so often so I thought I'd get them all done a once.

I would say one priority for the next 13 weeks should be your legs and your back, they look a little unbalanced from the rest of your body. You look pretty lean for being this far out, and being your first contest. Just be consistant, and enjoy the experience. good luck!

I know you stated your posing isnt great, but just a few things. Dont squeeze your arms so tight on your back double bi, and you need to get your legs in the right place for your side chest and tri. Its **** like that can make you look good or like a novice.

I know people will disagree on this but if I were you I would be doing 30 min. of cardio in the morning 3 times a week. If you start dropping to fast up your carbs just a bit.

    ditto

You should probably be doing cardio. You have good potential if you're willing to put in the work, you can do really well in 13 weeks.

    good luck

    Tripple.

It's better to be ahead of schedule then behind , do cardio and improve your chances , stay strict to your diet , you only have 13 weeks

Do your best , good luck.

I'm preparing for my first contest too and don't feel qualified to give advice. You look good but you will look much better when you have the posing down. Great work and good luck in July.

You look on track condition wise use your glutes and hams to check condition as upper body is ahead of them at the moment which is normal.

You first show is really part of the learning process.
    Enjoy and good luck

    Smile Cardio?

    Thanks all, anyone else?

What sort of CV do you guys/gals do for contest prep?

I can't make my mind up which is best as there are arguments for and against both HIIT and low intesity.

I've done both but I'm not sure if one is better than the other.

I personally find that 40-45 minutes of moderate intensity done in the morning on an empty stomach is the best. I personally like to have some BCAA's and caffeine before I start, along with a ton of ice water.

I tried hiit for a few weeks and didnt like it at all.

I like to do diffrent cardio so my body does not adjust to doing the same thing over and over again, bike ride , swim , walk 1 minute run 1 minute , sprints , pull cars , this way you don't get bored to death , and the body doesn't know what your gonna throw at it next.

by moderate intensity I mean HR between 120-130.

And do cardio more than 3x a week. you will thank yourself later when you lean out quicker!

Good luck man!! i am also doing my first competition in less than 8 weeks. You have plenty of time to get your posing right, just work on it every day at least for 15 minutes right now. Stay consistent with your diet and work your butt off in the gym. You are for sure on the right track!!
