    Question Is a Cheat-Day actually good for you?

    I read somewhere that a cheat day is good for you when bulking because it interupts the routine in your body then the next day you benefit more from it... or something..

    Anyone got further info / opinion about this?

    If your benifiting from a cheat day your not including something in your diet.

    Your body thrives on routine. Diet wise you want your body to thrive.

    Cheat day? You grow off of CALORIES. Eat everything, get fat? Clean it up a bit then repeat.

    i think the article meant that when yer bulking you want a reduced calorie cheat day where your metabolism then slows down.

    While cutting, they're definitely good for you, more emotionally than physically, but there is still some benefit.
    1. You can fill up your glycogen stores. This is especially noticable if you're on a ketogenic diet.
    2. After a while of under-maintenance calories, a cheat meal/day can raise your leptin levels, which is reponsible for regulating appetite and metabolism. Usually, though, refeeds are preferred to get your leptin going.
    3. Mentally and emotionally, a break is good. Hell, I'm bulking and I kinda want a cheat meal...sheesh.

    So a cheat meal during a bulking routine would be anything you want, just under your caloric requirements?

    I think your confusing diet and exercise. Same exercises=bad, same meal every day= good.

    Look at anyone who eats close to the same thing every day and you'll usually find a great body behind all of that planning and control.

    your metabolism gets used to yourroutine so when you cheat it gets confused and it only takes one day for it to forget it all
