According to another board:

He was arrested in Thailand by the DEA and Thai police on Feb. 26th. He was involved in trafficing ******** and XTC from Germany.

Kinda like Victor Martinez distributing ecstasy, eh, though I believe he was only busted for 90 days of jail time w/ mandatory drug testing after he gets out.

Dennis James is an idiot for slenging roids? He already has lots of cash, he should have bought a gym or two and health store. With a bodybuilder behind it people would probably buy what he told them to buy if they had money. legally.

The American DEA has no jurisdiction in Thailand, if strings get pulled for whatever reason they might end up **** outta luck.

My Girlfriend translated the main points of the article, just go to the Dennis James thread in the miscellaneous section ... it's probably on page 2 or 3 by now if someone hasn't bumped it.

Well it doesnt look good for him...they found alot of steroids(well duh he is a pro bodybuilder)...and 19 E tabs....

He admitted that he was going to sell the steroids to bodybuiler friends and the E tabs to tourists visting Thailand.

I believe he is charged with holding Ecstasy tablets without authorisation. The maximum penalty for this crime in Thailand is death. Hell, DWI first offense in Thailand is death....

All this info came from a newpaper clip someone copyed and pasted that i read....

Why on earth would he admit that he was going to sell the stuff. First thing you do is keep your mouth shut and call yourself a good lawyer. They only found 19 X pills which is not much, and if there was a lot of steroids he could also say it was for personal use cause look at him......hes a freak!

If you are found with more than 15 on you then you are recognised as a dealer / distributor. Doesnt look good for DJ. And IF he spends time in the Thai jails he can kiss his body goodbye, but i think he has more serious issues to deal with than his body. Even though his body is his career.

Frankly, he could well lose his life. As well as importing an exporting drugs, he was living and working in Thailand on a business visa (which he's not supposed to do.) This can be compounded with the drug offence. Thailand imposes the death penalty for certain drugs offences. Thai justice may choose to make an 'example' of him.

This is so ****ed up.

I highly doubt DJ'll get the death penalty, but you never know.

I'm assuming he's got a great lawyer, and as stated earlier, you can buy anything in thailand, even your freedom.

Its no different to if a heavyweight boxer went to prison..Mike Tyson ring any bells?
Size doesnt mean one can fight in the case of DJ. Sure its an advantage over the realy skinny guys in terms of intimidation, but for the big boyz that are like 6'0 and above and weigh 240 plus AND can fight, then DJ would get his ass handed to him IF he did something wrong in jail.
Death for drugs isnt ridiculous. Asian countries have their laws and reasons as to why they are so severe.
