Why did you ask this in a powerlifting forum? Squatting like a powerlifter (emphasis on hams/glutes) and deadlifting will build up your ass. Do you want to move heavy weight on those lifts or not?
If you're training for bodybuilding instead, consider front squats and leg press (feet positioned lower on the sled) with a close stance as quad-dominant options.

I'm biting my tongue to hold back a looooong and unfriendly rant. I will post the abridged version.
If you don't want a big butt, I'd suggest sticking with leg extensions and leg curls and stay the **** out of the power rack. Let people who care seriously about strength training use it, not those like yourself who are more concerned with fitting into their girlfriend's lowrider jeans.Last edited by ottorotvic; 05-27-2007 at 06:41 PM.

To the OP: Your concerns are misplaced, dickwasher. I'm sure what your boyfriend meant to say is that straining while you are squatting on the toilet can stretch out your anus. Posting dumb **** like this on a Powerlifting forum can also be bad for your rectal tightness, because most of the guys will jump at the opportunity to ream you out.
Posts like this ruin my day. When someone asks a stoooooooooopid question, we need to work together to make them feel like less of a person. Everyone pitches in according to their abilities. Guys like you can handle the long rants, guys like ET flail wildly with their nutty gibberish, and guys like me call people names.

also for the original poster....your body works as a unite...most leg and lower back work activate the glutes...whats that...are glutes leg muscles?...I gues they are so jeez...sounds like you're traing your legs the way you should!! Sorry buddy but thats what is supose to hapen when squating. Any ways...stronger/bigger glutes mean a bigger squat so what are you complaining about. Maby you could have surgery and have them cut out. But then your legs wont work right...as in you can't stand up! Only fairys put wood under their heels and only fairys want to only hit their quads while squating!! I suffer from huge ass syndrome. Any wieght i gain is in my ass...and I'm a lean guy. Pants don't fit me right anymore....they don't fit right once i get them past my knees! But I don't care...I lift what all the skinny no ass people whish they could 1/8 squat! F*ck sakes budy....grow some balls with that ass of yours. Anyways...a fat ass means you can sit down where most would find uncomfortable
