I'm considering trying a Keto diet for the first time but am not really sure about some things. First of all, how many carbs are you allowed to have in a day (during the weekdays when you are dieting?). Some of the main sources I get protein from are cottage cheese (4g carb per 1/2 cup) and protein powder (4g carb per scoop). Are these amounts significant amounts of carbs? If I had 1 cup of cottage cheese and 2 scoops of protein powder a day, it would be around 16 carbs. Is this acceptable for a true keto diet?
Also, since you have to eat a lot of fat in this diet, where do you guys get that fat from? What are good sources of good fat?
Should I still be concerned about staying away from all saturated fats?
Thanks

16gs is fine, most people here stick to a celing of 30 grams. make sure you get some fiber though, natural peanut butter is a good idea, 2 grams net, with 2 grams of fiber.
I get the majority of my fat from chicken and beef, the main things i eat. Relativly lean cuts of beef, and chicken legs, so a little more fat, but i perfer the taste, and they work just as well protein wise. Eggs are always good, too.Age: 15

pb,cream cheese,beef,chicken breasts(With the fatty skin),flax seed oil,olive oil,bacon,butter,tuna,salamon(all kind of fishes),eggs,all kind of cheese (high fat!!)
avoid low-fat products as they often contains sugars! (those are bad while doing keto)
don't take during the day your whey, save your whey to postworkout shake only!! use real food.
