Exclamation Train legs or upepr body first in a workout?

    Readers,

Just a general inquiry do you recommend that I should do leg workouts or upper body workouts in my training session. Eg. Bench Press, Bicep barbell curls, Incline dumbbell press, leg press, leg extensions, reverse barbell curls on a Monday. Should i split this by doing the legs first or the upper body workouts first? I feel that perhaps upper because ill have more energy to do them at6 the start and the legs don't require as much energy to do in comparrison, they have more endurance ability (not that i am saying its easy) Thoughts?

    Kind Regards,

    Robert Murphy

    Wink Legs?

If you're doing a full body workout the largest muscles should be done first

I split it up, legs/chest/biceps on Monday, Back/shoulders on Wednesday and legs/chest/triceps on Friday. Each day i also do some forearm wrist work and calves. Considering this should i start with legs or upper body? which will give me the most power and energy to complete all the sets and reps at 100% or as close as possible to overall? Any thoughts?

    Kind Regards,

    Robert

    Question Largest muscles first

I always do my legs first. But I actually have one day that I do legs exclusively starting with squats. The next day I do chest, shoulders, arms. The next is back shoulders arms. Each day I'm doing a full body workout with these. Squats are a full body workout, When I bench press my legs are getting it a bit and on back day the deadlifts are also working my legs. But how ever you have it split I think that the legs should be done first before back, chest, arms. Unless you wish to split on the same day; morning/afternoon or evening.

If my understanding is right you are doing full body workouts? Is that right? And if so then you should put the leg exercises at the beginning of the workout because it is the largest set of muscles in the body and therefore requires the most energy.

I would order my exercises as follows:

    legs
    chest
    back
    shoulders
    biceps
    triceps

when doing the full body workouts

    just my 2 cents
Anything worth doing, is worth doing well!

We all know you want to put your energy into your upper body first because you care about this more than legs because it'll improve your chances of getting laid. However you should prioritize bigger movements first.

I think you should change it up. By working your legs you will get your blood pumping faster and your whole body will warm up faster. Plus by working the larger muscles first you will increase GH levels in your body sooner which will help your upperbody grow. However after about 3 or 4 weeks I would switch it up, so your body doesn't get used to it. So I guess my answer is do both.

I'm guessing you're not so much going for size and strength but for more of a toning type of workout..

I'm with everyone else in wroking you legs first.
