I'm looking for something that I could make easily and fast (less than 20 min) in the morning. It'd be soooooo easy with eggs but I can't eat them, they make me puke, that's it... I've tried, but no success.
So I resigned myself to 2 scoops of whey with 2tbsp of flaxoil but hey, after 1h I want to eat my books at school.
Any good ideas ?
Thanks

i know that it may sound pretty unusual, but have you tried some chicken breast with almonds/peanuts/almond butter/peanut butter or my favourite sesame seed butter and a few veggies?
Or maybe some fat free cottage cheese/quark with splenda and the same nuts as above?
In other words find a lean protein source and add some EFAs to it and you`re all set

Errr....microwaved sausage and bacon?
I've never had a whole meal composed of cheese, but you could always try a big yellow bowl full of cheddar.
The weirdest thing I've ever eaten in a hurry was an ounce of cheese, a packet of splenda, and 0.5 T butter, melted in a bowl. It was kinda gross, but the sweetness was nice. You cannot make a man by standing a sheep on its hind legs. But by standing a flock of sheep in that position you can make a crowd of men.

two slices of deli meat, two peices of cooked bacon (already cooked & frig'd), shredded cheese, microwave until cheese is melted (~35 secs)... it's yummy and it tastes like one of those BK or McD's breakfast sandwhichs without bread.. which is nasty (except BK's crossointwhich's.. those are real good).

I love it. Keto people, we all eat the stragest tings and love it. I do what doobie said and eat a big ol hunk of colby cheese. Right off the macros are pretty darn good and the fat kills my hunger.
Not so breakfasty but I've also been mixinf a bunch of cheese and bacon into a bowl and take large leaf spinach and making little wraps from it.
I guess I like to play with my food.

Well first of all, whatever you eat, you should consider a few nuts or at least some almond/peanut butter. Those slow down your digestion, regulate your blood sugar levels and makes you feel full longer. A few green veggies could be nice too, for similar reasons.
For the breakfast, have you considered bacon and/or ham ? Pre-cooked bacon isn't the most healthy, but it's VERY quick if you're on a rush. It's also about 33% protein and few carbs, which is perfect for a keto breakfast. And ham is simple too : it can even be eaten cold because it's always sold pre-cooked. And, unless you buy the expensive low-fat ones that you wouldn't want, it has about 35% protein. It does contain a little more carbs than bacon though.
There's another quick possibility for breakfast : personnaly, i bake a keto bread and spread some philly cheese or almond butter on it. A loaf lasts me for about 1-2 weeks. Of course, that bread contains eggs, so if you can't stand them even as part of a recipe, forget it. But otherwise, here's my best variation of the recipe :
- 1 carton liquid egg whites (250g)
- 2eggs with yolks
- 150g blond flaxmeal (it has to be ground into a fine powder)
- 5-10g of guar gum, xanthan gum and/or baking powder to help it raise
- 5-20g of whey (not needed for recipe but just to adjust the protein macros to whatever you like)
You simply mix everything in that order, put it in a mold sprayed with oil and bake it at 450F for 20-30mins. Bigger loafs take more time. Then slice it into 20 small slices and each will contain about 60 calories.
This stuff has a very similar texture to real bread. I can even toast it. It also has a similar 115-120cals for 50g, but with 7-9g of protein (depending on the whey added) and 4-5g of carbs including a lot of fiber. A 50g slice is smaller than a 50g slice from a real bread though, but fills you more. And the good news is that the 50-60% fat it contains mostly come from omega3's in the flax !
