If you could rep between 220 and 235 8-10 times you could probably bench 315 for a max.

you must have a fairly high number of slow twitch fibers for your weight to be only 50 lbs. less (so if its like 300 then its 250) and you can do it for 8-10 reps.

I max 350 and i can only do 265-270 10 times at most. The most i have ever done with 315 is like 3 or 4.

this is different for everyone depending on their ratio of fast twitch to slow twitch muscles. fred hatfield wrote an interesting article on this.

To pop up 315 lbs one time you should be repping out between 8-10 reps of 225 lbs. But just lifting 225 lbs for 8-10 reps does not mean you will pop up 315 lbs, if you 225 lbs is the only thing you do.
Currently I pop up 225 lbs, for reps between 22-27. I always rep out at the end of of flatbench and Incline. On incline at the end of my long workout, I still can rep out at least 18-20 reps of 225 lbs.
Here are my 2 rep maxes.
Bench 415 lbs
LegPress 1,750 lbs (5 reps) Machine won't hold anymore weight.
Incline Bench 390 bls.
Straight Bar Curl. 210 lbs.
one hand dumbbell curl. 85 lbs.
I do not do heavy weight with Squats, or dead lifts due to a bad lower back.
Im 6'1, weigh in out 202 lbs. with 6 percent body fat. Im natural, only taking in over the counter supplements. So far 1-AD is the best I've ever taken. When im on 1-AD there is a big change in strength and mass gains.Last edited by Griff334; 11-29-2003 at 04:32 PM.

I just read my previous reply yo the topic, and i didn;t even answer the question. I remember exactly what i used to rep when i was 1 rep maxing 315. For 10 reps, i was doing 230-240 for sets of 10 reps. For 5-6 reps, i was using around 265-270. At that time, i was also doing 275 for sets of 4, and i was doing 300 for 3 reps.
