    My goal is to bench 315, what would I be reping in order to get 315?

    If you could rep between 220 and 235 8-10 times you could probably bench 315 for a max.

    That sounds about right. My friend uses that much weight for his sets and he maxes at 320.

    When I maxed at 315, I could rep 265 x 7.

    When I maxed at 325, I could rep 280 x 7.

    These sound more like it. For me it's around 50 pounds more than I can do something for 10 reps.

    you must have a fairly high number of slow twitch fibers for your weight to be only 50 lbs. less (so if its like 300 then its 250) and you can do it for 8-10 reps.

    I've been staying in a lower rep range lately. 4 - 6. I'll try it next week. I rarely do 1RM. I'm at 236 X 4 for now. I would guess I can do 270 - 275 once. I'm finally eating a lot again. I'm hoping it will keep going up.

    ..

    I can do 220 x 9, and can do nowhere near 315 for a bench press I'm more around 275 I think. I guess it all depends on the person.

    this is different for everyone depending on their ratio of fast twitch to slow twitch muscles. fred hatfield wrote an interesting article on this.

    To pop up 315 lbs one time you should be repping out between 8-10 reps of 225 lbs. But just lifting 225 lbs for 8-10 reps does not mean you will pop up 315 lbs, if you 225 lbs is the only thing you do.

    Currently I pop up 225 lbs, for reps between 22-27. I always rep out at the end of of flatbench and Incline. On incline at the end of my long workout, I still can rep out at least 18-20 reps of 225 lbs.

    Here are my 2 rep maxes.

    Bench 415 lbs
    LegPress 1,750 lbs (5 reps) Machine won't hold anymore weight.
    Incline Bench 390 bls.
    Straight Bar Curl. 210 lbs.
    one hand dumbbell curl. 85 lbs.

    I do not do heavy weight with Squats, or dead lifts due to a bad lower back.

    Im 6'1, weigh in out 202 lbs. with 6 percent body fat. Im natural, only taking in over the counter supplements. So far 1-AD is the best I've ever taken. When im on 1-AD there is a big change in strength and mass gains.

    I just read my previous reply yo the topic, and i didn;t even answer the question. I remember exactly what i used to rep when i was 1 rep maxing 315. For 10 reps, i was doing 230-240 for sets of 10 reps. For 5-6 reps, i was using around 265-270. At that time, i was also doing 275 for sets of 4, and i was doing 300 for 3 reps.

    For me.....300x5=340x1, 255x8=320x1. I think it really has more to do with the manner that you handle the weights. I find that most of the time if I use around 70-80% of 1RM for plenty of good sets of 1-3 reps I seem to handle heavier weights more efficiently but thats a no duh.

    I would say 245 for 8-10 reps.

    for me

    225x3 =275
    225x5 =295

    I just did 225 5x5 so I should be in the 400s LOL. Reps will lower your 1RM singles and triples will bring it up once you have that base of reps.

    everyone max's out differently, you just have to try and see for yourself. I personally am someone that can never bench for alot of reps so it would seem my max is alot less than what I can actually do.
