My strength never really followed the typical breakdown. I've pressed anywhere from 320-350 in meets while only hitting 275 for 3-5 in training. With bench, I need to handle heavier weights for lower reps. Pressing 240-250 for sets of 8 do nothing for my 1RM
    Best Meet Lifts:
    SQ: 460 (sleeves)
    BP: 350
    DL: 510
    Total: 1300 (242 wrapped)

be aware of one thing. When people do reps almost everyone does touch and go on bench. If you use a 1rm calculator touch and go reps translate to a touch and go max. your paused max will be lower.

There's really no such thing as being close to it if you aren't benching singles close to it.
Just add some moderate singles to your training 1@7-8s before volume work and you'll probably get there pretty quick.

Also I'm sure you goal can go higher than that man!

    Editing in example
Highest single I've done recently is 120kg, @8 rpe, so 125-127.5 ERM (fairly accurate erm)
Highest reps was 100 x 10 (135 ERM, wayyyy off).

And I'm not even good at rep work since my muscles occlude pretty quick and I get pumped easily.
Someone who trains reps more and is good at them will have ridiculous estimated maxes.

    Love the thread necro!
Agree with Wolf - you gotta try it! From this thread alone we see that folks have a wide variety of 1RM compared to AMRAP.
I like the 1RM calculator on ExRx (I can't post links yet) - it's at exrx.net/Calculators/OneRepMax - the calculator NotThatUgly posted just above in 2016.

Plugging it in for 250x5 yields an estimated 281 but obviously you can do more since you are doing 5 sets.

I did 303 last month for my current best and did 245 5x5 last week in my linear plan although that's not max effort (about 8RPE). I'm feeling pretty confident when I finish this cycle I'll hit 315 or better.... my guess is you can too.

Again, I agree with Wolf - just start throwing up some singles and you'll get it soon if you can't already!
    It's never too late!

Idk. First time I benched 315 it was a grinder and I had my ass off the bench but at that point I'd already hit 225 for 25 reps and I could do sets of 275 for 8.

Now I can hit 315 for 15 reps if I am doing touch and go B)

I'm proof that this is NOT the case.

    I can put up 225 for 8+
    I can put up 245 for 5

    I can't even come close to 315

I bench about 330, my 225 max reps is about 17-18.
220 for 8-10 is far away from 315
