idk know about these numbers on a normal bench workout day i end at 335 for 8-10 and i can throw up 455 roughly. i think its all about the way you train your muscles
started december 16th 2010 at 447 pounds goal of 260 pounds and under 15%bf lost 150 pounds, never going back
never quit, you can do this.

just because you are good at reps relative to max doesn't necessarily mean ur so slow twitch. If you think about if you do 18 reps pretty damn quick then fatigue, that might actually be more fast twitch dominant.
anyway I am over 315 and prolly just over 225x17820 raw deadlift at 21 y/o http://youtu.be/PQPviRHx96U?t=1m20s

ya i gotta agree with this guy as he seem to be knowlegdeable about lifting matters, i think that all people have some slow twitch and some fast twitch because when u think back to eveoltion we needed both because sometimes we need to jog long distances to hunt mammoths and escapoe hutning sabre tooths from killing us but also need to sprint fast incase snow leapord or dinosaurs chase us down from cave and we need quick energy to escapoe so we could mate and continue to grow as a human species and evoleve into what we are today,.

You should be repping 315. 1 time.
Everyone is different. I rep 225 for 14 but I never take more than 3 reps with more than that.I'm not DrewDarden

Either I'm an easily-winded slob or something very ****ed up is going on with these rep ranges. My max is 345 and 235 for 10 or 12 would be a reasonably challenging work set.

Well yeah, you're 5'9" 260.....built like a brick probably. You're body is built giving you a huge advantage on bench press but you probably strain just wiping your a$$(no offense). I'm 5'11" 185 and I can only bench 305 lbs, but I'll bet I could out run you and out swim you without even trying!
No, but seriously, it's good to have all types of lifters in the gym and I'm sure if I saw you pushing up some serious weight I'd be motivated to go harder on my lifts. But for me, I've just accepted the fact that with my lanky build I will never be a dominant lifter in the bench press.

At 315 again
I successfully did a one rep max bench of 315 2 nights ago. It went up much easier than I thought it would. I probably could of got at least 320.
Here is what I can do for reps right now:
225 x 15
255 x 9
275 x 6
295 x 3
I was able to do 315 x 4 about a year ago, but like an idiot I did not deload and wound up going backwards all the way to only being able to do 255 x 5.
I am 53 years old and weigh 240 pounds (including about 25 pounds of useless sludge gained while waiting for a hip replacement). Now that I am able to walk again my goal is a 345 bench at 215 pounds. I intend to keep lifting until they have to pry the freaking bar out of my hands.
This is a great website and I have got a lot of useful info here.

I know this is an old thread, however it is one of the top threads from a Bench Press related google search, therefore I figured I'd throw in another post to help anyone else that did a search.
Back in October '11 I hit 315x1, and then within the next few weeks I hit 245x10 and 255x9. Shortly before hitting 315 I hit 275x5 and 305x2. 285 and 295 were low single digits.Alabama Crimson Tide
