Disadvantages? Hyperinflation, a completely dysfunctional government, local wages that are very low even if you can get a work permit as a foreigner, etc.
I can't speak for the whole country, but in Buenos Aires rent control laws make evicting people nearly impossible, so landlords aren't willing to lease unless the tenant finds someone to guarantee their rent. Typically that's the renter's parents or someone else in their family who has $$. As a foreigner without local relationships, you would have difficulties getting an apartment.
Obviously if you can afford to buy property and don't need to work (or can work remotely), then many of these problems go away.
Latin jazz isn't a huge part of the culture. The women in Buenos Aires are really hot but tend to be fake/high maintenance (there is a stereotype, histerica, which translates roughly to c0cktease). When I lived there, half of the women I met had tattoos, fake tits, or both. B.A. is like New York City or Los Angeles--it attracts beautiful women from all over the country who are seeking fame, fortune, excitement.

Sorry, I barely traveled outside of metropolitan Buenos Aires, so I can't say much about the rest of Argentina. I know there are some cultural differences... tango is pretty much limited to Buenos Aires; the rest of the country has different traditional music.
IIRC Cordoba has almost a million people. It has several universities so the nightlife is probably decent.

I would say the people are kinda boring and cold compared to the rest of Latin America. I was there for a month in 2021, then went to Brazil and it was like night and day in terms of the vibes.
It's a beautiful country though, and there's a lot of cool chit. But I would choose just about every other Latin American country over it to spend most of my time in.

Thats why its safe, functional, clean and the best part of the country. Sprinkle some of the dindu's and it looks like Recife or Salvador.
I break down the differences between Southern Brazil and Argentina as I see them
Brazil
- Better weather
- Much better beaches
- Better food (Argentinian food is actually bland)
- Currency is less of an issue
- Chicks are hotter than Argentina
- Brazilian people are some of the best in the world
Argentina
- Great wine
- Patagonia
- Spanish rather than Portuguese
- If you like Italian food, its no joke in Argentina
Either option if you have money is going to provide a better quality of life and standard of living than you will enjoy in the USA these days. If you dont have money though, life is pretty tough going in these countries.
The other big negative with Argentina is the people. They are arrogant.

Yep, southern Brazil is where I'd choose to live in Brazil(likely Floripa or BC), but I actually have way more fun in Rio and Sao Paulo(although would never live in Sao Paulo). Also, weather isn't as good in S Brazil, beach season is only like 5-6 months there. It's amazing during Summer, but pretty quiet during Winter.
For whatever reason, I find a lot of charm in the sketchiness of Rio and have never had issues there at all although doing some things that would make most miscers absolutely chit their pants with fear. But Brazilian people are night and day better than Argentinians. Like Brazilians probably have the best vibes of people anywhere in the world, and although Argentinians are great if you're in the "group" or "clique", they can be pretty fuking cold otherwise. After a month in Argentina, although I had fun, I was ready to get the fuk out of there and had an absolute blast in Brazil for a few weeks after(and the 4 other times I've been to Brazil). I find myself just constantly laughing at the ridiculous funny things that are going on in Brazil at all times.
