I find it totally bizarre how religion/faith went from people hanging out with other folk who want to question life and existence etc, to 'following' a religion and all that stuff that we see today
I heard religion stems from re-legion, as in to form a legion. Maybe religion overtook 'faith' as a practice when people saw how easy it was to manipulate broken peopleOverthinking, overanalysing separates the body from the mind

OP is right.
as soon as someone starts saying "Christ is king" or some other religious nonsense I just disregard everything they say as invalid, because religion is cope and only stupid people in 2024 still think there is a god.
10 commandments are great to live by, I won't disagree on that, but everything else is fuking nonsense. If she vapes, bin her off.
If she smokes, light it up.
Roll on the weekend, sorted.

I'm not religious because I grew up and am too high IQ for that BS but I'm smart enough to know that religion has a place in society since most people are retarded and need a reason to not be a complete POS. Weak minded definitely need something to believe in it seems. Just my $0.02. Obviously not talking about Islam heh

It's one way of looking at it, that's for sure.
I mean the whole premise of Christianity for example is that there is a God who created everything and that God has certain rules and laws for how a human must live to be in God's grace - at the same time God gave man the option to do as he pleases.
So you don't have to follow any religion, you can do as you please - you can even hurt other people and be evil, nobody is really stopping you... although I'd say that's unwise and your own intuition might tell you there's lash back for evil."It's hard to be yourself in a world filled with haters" - WiseOldApe.
"Why be anything when you can be an influencer?" - WiseOldApe.
"It's not about what is said - it's about who it is said by" - WiseOldApe.
"People strive for equality, once they attain it, they fight for superiority" - WiseOldApe.
"Nobody hates authority more than one who themselves lusts after that exact authority" - WiseOldApe.

What I meant to say that religion in it's very essence, as in the belief in God, one God, from its very inception, is about control and it's not hidden.
God tells you what to do and you obey - or you do as you please and you end up distanced from God.
Hence the forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden.
Take islam for example, it translates to 'submission' in arabic, so there's no lie here that islam is about control...."It's hard to be yourself in a world filled with haters" - WiseOldApe.

Sure, and they have the right to follow whichever religion they want - they can worship God, talking snakes, idols, their desires, the rich and famous, etc.
People are constantly leaving religions and taking on new ones, very few people can believe in nothing at all - the way that the human mind is designed is that it has to connect to something greater than it self."It's hard to be yourself in a world filled with haters" - WiseOldApe.
"Why be anything when you can be an influencer?" - WiseOldApe.
"It's not about what is said - it's about who it is said by" - WiseOldApe.

99% of anti-religion types are just pure COPEing - desperate for some way to justify how big of a homo they are.
The truth hurts....and according to which an ensign might rank incomparably higher than a general, and according to which what was needed for success in the service was not effort or work, or courage, or perseverance, but only the knowledge of how to get on with those who can grant rewards, and he was himself often surprised at the rapidity of his success, and at the inability of others to understand these things

After my awakening to Christ, only then did I realise how much of my unbelief was rooted in my environment and things that my eyes and ears were exposed to on TV or the internet - it's like there's a force out there who is actively seeking to destroy God.
The thing about richard dawkins and the like is that if they actually took the time to read the gospels they'd see how much truth in the bible. It's mostly about being a decent human being. There has always been people who've opposed God though."It's hard to be yourself in a world filled with haters" - WiseOldApe.
"Why be anything when you can be an influencer?" - WiseOldApe.

Easily disputable.
Many religions weren’t made for that, but they have been used by different people throughout history for that purpose. Religion is mainly the condensation of countless spiritual thoughts from many people into a specific narrative. Unfathomable amounts of human hours by all types of people has gone into wrestling with those ideas, so clearly there can be a lot gained from diving into the religions. That’s why I just laugh when I see potatocel edgelords try to dismiss it all….and to make it even worse they pretend they’re the ones who are enlightened. Just lmfao.
Or take gnostic Christianity for example….it is actually the exact opposite of what you’re saying religion is made for.+positive crew+
-we all gonna make it, but what it is is up to you crew
-all things in moderation, even political views crew
-support local farms crew
-try to do at least one good deed/day crew
-less cursing the darkness and more lighting candles crew

No no, the Abrahamic faiths are very much about submitting your will to the creator - there's no denying this. Jesus basically says you can either be a slave to sin or to God and anybody who has done the whole sensation seeking lifestyle knows this to be true.
The Dharmic faiths are about becoming *like God* or becoming god.
Gnosticism is a heresy BTW similar to the dharmic faiths."It's hard to be yourself in a world filled with haters" - WiseOldApe.
