https://azomnium.com/2024/04/22/sony...take-the-lead/Recently, Sony has made headlines by filing a patent for an auto-play feature, seemingly giving the wheel over to AI. Imagine those times when you prefer to watch a game rather than play it yourself; instead of forcing a friend or partner into taking the controller, AI could step in.
This patent, introducing an auto-play option, aligns with the trend of companies embracing AI as an increasingly integral part of their business models. It signals a potential revolution in how we approach gaming.
If this innovation finds its way into the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro—or any subsequent consoles—it would leverage cloud data to tailor its gameplay to your style. Essentially, it could simulate your gaming habits while you kick back and watch

Sony's all about "the real gamers" just LMAO
Lets be honest though, this was clearly the natural evolution for Sony's style of gaming. Their video games have already been cinematic walking simulators with cinematic action scenes that basically play themselves with you tapping or holding a few buttons here or there when they show up on screen, seems natural for them to just eliminate all of that annoying gameplay chit and focus entirely upon the cinematic presentation fans love so much.

Imagine not only being a Pony but so ****ing lazy you can't even play your own games. But when you are a basement bound incel spending your day crying about the other console online I guess at the end of the day you're kind of tuckered out getting in your jammies and having some dino nuggets you just can't be bothered to move your hands.

Says a lot about the type of "gamers" sonyceldom attracts and their actual interests. It seemed to me like they didn't even have any genuine preferences when it comes to gaming experiences, always shilling whatever the latest hyped up game redditors and video games journalists prescribe to them. By removing any need to actually play these games, it's easier for them to just beat off to the graphics and spend all their time being an e-warrior for dear Sony on the internet.

Lol idk why Jay is frothing about Sony this and that
Some Xbox games already have this feature, it's intended for handicap players to have more access.
In forza horizon you can set races so that all you have to do is press the acceleration and the game will play the rest. People used this to abuse afk xp farming and get tons of xp/cashSometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces

I can understand just wanting to watch the story play out and not have to deal with annoying schit getting in the way of that. The last campaign I played was PS4 Spiderman, so that's not really what I game for; I like Franchise modes in sports games, or the competition of multiplayer shooters, or playing out battles/politics in strategy games, or if I want a challenge then a survival game. Still, not sure why you'd bother to pay for or download a game if you just want to watch a playthrough. Plenty of those up on Youtube and Twitch.

If I'm being generous to this idea there are certain parts in some games that can be retarded. Example I'm playing Rebirth right now and it's filled with stupid ass mini games. Not the biggest deal to have a pass score but the best items are tied behind getting a near perfect score which for some games is extremely difficult. I'll never yield to AI but I'm playing a piano mini game right now that made me rage for the past 20 mins until I decided to deal with it tomorrow.
Another example could be a mission in GOW Ragnarok that literally has you walking around in a forest talking to a sloot doing fuking nothing for 2 hours. I don't care to watch an AI do it, an auto skip would be gr8 tho.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

This already exists in several game. Anytime during gameplay, you can press a button and the computer takes over. But I guess what they mean by this is that an AI plays the game differently every time, in contrast to a pre-recorded gameplay session that kicks in. It's like self driving cars, it just makes people even more stupid than they already are.
