Lee Zeldin explains how Trump can actually win New York

Zeldin came within 6% of winning the New York gubernatorial race in 2022. To put that into perspective, Cuomo won all of his elections by 25+ points. That was before the migrant crisis and many high profile subway crimes. The likely reason he even lost was because a million New Yorkers who leaned conservative fled the state after Covid. Zeldin’s performance was the first sign of a major shift to the right occurring in New York State.

Now he says Trump actually has a path to win New York in November. It goes without being said, if Trump takes NY’s 27 electoral votes, the election is over. The other swing states wouldn’t matter.

By putting Trump on trial, the New York Democrats may have actually sabotaged their election chances.

All Trump has to do is win about 35% of the vote in NYC. The rest of the state will carry him over the top. He will be stuck in the city for the next 2 months. This will be the opportune moment to campaign in the boroughs. Remind people how good life was under Trump and how Biden has destroyed this country. This week’s Harlem bodega stop shows New Yorkers are receptive to Trump’s message and he has already stated he will make a heavy play for the state. He smells blood.

But facts over feelings, right?

Let’s look at some data:

Obama won NYC by 63 in 2012.

Hillary won NYC by 61 in 2016.

Biden won NYC by 54 in 2020.

Hochul won NYC by 39 in 2022.

The latest poll shows Biden winning NYC by just 27 points ahead of 2024.



That’s just the 5 boroughs. Long Island has swung 15 points to the right since the last election. Upstate, which was already red outside the cities, has swung about 5 points.

Recent statewide polling supports this. A January NYT/Sienna survey had Trump within 9% of overtaking Biden.

That’s before the sham trial. Before Trump campaigning in the neighborhoods. With Biden’s continued incompetence, a higher 3rd party turnout and Trump staying on message, as crazy as it sounds, New York will be a swing state in 2024.

New York has too many blue districts that will pull out boxes of mail in ballots after midnight for Trump to stand a chance. Also the influx of illegals gives them an even higher vote count this time
