Cause the 3d schmup genre is dead. That’s why they tried so hard to make an adventure game for the GC but it sucked.

Star Fox had a game released on the WiiU and it wasn't bad it was just, as the kids would say "mid" and didn't sell well. The Star Fox franchise isn't a big money maker (same with F-Zero) so there's little incentive for them to release another game in the franchise. They'll probably re-release the classics and gauge how those sell to determine if they want to make another brand new game. Its what they did with Metroid.

Donkey Kong has had a couple of games, most recently Tropical Freeze which came out for the WiiU and was remastered for the Switch:


If you like the SNES games, this is basically a true successor to the franchise.

I have that DK Tropical Freeze game. Decent game, but I miss the old style of switching beteen Kongs rather than having to play exclusively as DK with assists

there aren't really any good newer games and all the newer consoles are massively overpriced for what you get in return, unless you're a graphics whore, then there isn't value to be had. what genres do you like?

tbh man I'm not sure it's been so long since I had a console, I was a PC guy since 8

grew up on my brother's consoles though (snes etc)

i'm very open to genres tbh, I would avoid anything heavily story orientated though. It's cool but I want to be able to not pay too much attention and more attention to action

In that case, if you want something modern, take a look at Armored Core 6 - the story isn't super heavy.

EDIT: AC6 is available on both xbox and playstation platforms
