It was good but let's be serious.
It was really bits from 10 other sci-fi films crammed together to make 1 film...and according to which an ensign might rank incomparably higher than a general, and according to which what was needed for success in the service was not effort or work, or courage, or perseverance, but only the knowledge of how to get on with those who can grant rewards, and he was himself often surprised at the rapidity of his success, and at the inability of others to understand these things

My wife and I became adults in the early 2000's when the War on Terror began. Watched lots of 24.
Hit us right in the feels seeing the Zoe character from 24 in the Tomorrow War....and according to which an ensign might rank incomparably higher than a general, and according to which what was needed for success in the service was not effort or work, or courage, or perseverance, but only the knowledge of how to get on with those who can grant rewards, and he was himself often surprised at the rapidity of his success, and at the inability of others to understand these things

I love all three you mentioned.
Actually, I re-watched "Edge of Tomorrow" too.
As for the "War of the Worlds" adaptations, I have watched all three.
I think the original is the best.
The original (1953) won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. (Budget: $2 million & Box office: $2 million)
The 2005 remake was nominated for three Academy Awards. (Budget: $132 million & Box office: $603.9 million)

Edge of Tomorrow was good, only seen it once back then, time to rewatch.
Another similar one I really liked but didn't score as high was Oblivion. Soundtrack was fukkin amazing:
Tommy in War of the worlds was also spine tingling
Or Bradley in World War Z

I've watched it 2-3 times already and enjoyed it every time.
The hopelessness they captured in the first half was very well done. An IRL scenario like that would literally be the end of us. Spoiler below.

Edge of Tomorrow is hard to beat imo
Homegirl from Tomorrow War as an absolute smoke show though and itβs a solid movie imo.
Pandorum is of a similar vein as these thatβs also worth a watch.
Curious if youβve seen Deja Vu with Denzel as well as Reign of Fire. Let me know bud!Sloots Gon Sloot.
