Things that are significantly cheaper at the Grocery Store than for Delivery

I stopped drinking and doing drugs for the last few months, so I've spent a lot more time cooking and doing all types of other various things. When I want a treat, a few times lately I've ordered cookies for delivery.

Not don't get me wrong, the cookies for delivery are really good. But they end up being like $27 for a dozen, and this doesn't include Delivery or Tip. By the time they arrive at your house, it's like a $35.

I just bought $3 worth of Nestle Cookie Dough at the grocery store and made some bomb ass cookies in 10 minutes, and they turned out fuking great. Literal savings of $32 just by going to the grocery store.

This is one of the higher savings items I can think of. Burgers at home are only like 50% savings, many other things are even less savings. But cookies are a literal 90% savings.

Can you think of some other items like this?

I just made a healthy eggplant parmesan over Whole Grain Pasta and it was significantly less expensive than if I got it delivered from an Italian restaurant. Olive Garden's eggplant parmesan is 850 calories and this one is 370 calories.

It's soooo filling (11g of fiber) and the ingredients are cheap in this economy, even with mostly organic.

costco has those meal trays that you can just pop in the oven or microwave and they taste better than some restaurant meals, for less than half the price sometimes

Over 50% savings if you get a $5 or so frozen pizza versus any type of delivered pizza, especially factoring in tips.

Sometimes if I drink I crave Checkers and get their hotdogs. Uber Eats puts 3 of them at $8, but it ends up being $13 without even adding the tip due to delivery fees. Meanwhile I like those Gwaltney "chicken great dogs" with some cheap buns, ends up being less than $1.50 for 3 hot dogs including condiments. So basically 10x savings lmao.

Takes a little more effort, but you don't get the chemicals and preservatives from the pre-made dough in the store.

Burgers are more than 50% savings, OP. A Big Mac has just 3.2 ounces of meat. A cheeseburger I make with 8 oz of meat at home costs me about $3, and of course the toppings I put on are far superior to a Big Mac.

Crumbl cookies are opening up franchises everywhere. They’re insanely good but like 700 calories a cookie.
