this one teacher kept stalking my mate because he wanted longer hair and would get the tiniest bit cut off everytime to piss them off
then he said "jesus had long hair though sir?" when he was getting detentions and stuff

I went to Catholic school.
My mum never let it get very long (while I was still in school).
I still died it black though. In spite of a big discussion by year co-ordinator at the start of term that it wasn't allowed.
Also good point your friend made about Jesus having long hair.

Hope the Misc are thinking a bit more about the true meaning of Easter this weekend.

Went to a catholic school. No one had issues with long-ish hair, but you'd get in trouble if you dyed it. I can remember our homeroom teacher pulling me and my friends aside one afternoon in grade 10 (15 y/o) and saying "When I was your age, I had hair like that. Enjoy it while you can." He was a bald, 60 year old heavily accented italian dude. Died the year after we graduated from a brain tumor (RIP).

I taught at a top public all boys school in Thailand and we had strict requirements for uniform and hair. If students let their hair grow, the head teacher would literally shave a chunk out so they would need to shave the whole thing. In a school where there was a focus on academics and duty, students needed to not have distractions and not celebrate their individuality while on school grounds... just get the work done. I think these are good lessons for a young man.
