    It's a combination of fault on both ends. When I was a rentcel, 90% of the people who rented around me always complained about being broke or about money in general.     I love those posts/videos where the rentcels are like, "the bank said I couldn't afford 1200 mortgage but my rent is 2000."

    I'm like tell me you've never owned a home without telling me. I wish my $1200 mortgage was where that cost stopped, but nope. Insurance, Taxes, Repairs, etc all add up to more than 600-800/mo easily.

    The biggest benefit to rent for me is the month-to-month flexibility. I pay month-to-month and can leave anytime. I don’t have some large mortgage debt hanging over my head so forced to be a worried wagecuck and I feel no financial pressure.

    Never got the " flexibility to leave " .i own my condo and could still sell at any time. Maybe if you live somewhere where properties move extremely slowly

    Also mortgage debt? Mortgage debt won't be relevant when you go sell the place at a profit. Mortgage is just a way to gain equity

    landchads are in delusion, its very clearly in a massive bubble right now. once everyone starts getting laid off a crash will happen, we been through this before.



    yes renting is cheaper, the landchads are in competition with each other for rentcels and a lot of landchads, the ones who brag about being locked in to low interest rates, they are the ones lowering the rent prices. Essentially rentcels are getting access to the low interest rates of the past by renting where as buyers only have one choice the current high interest rates plus high prices.
