It was started by older men (40's+) who were married and lost everything from a failed marriage, but the movement got taken over by forever alone 20-somethings who have never even talked to a girl, but I think it still has validity.

Nah. I'm sure some take it to the extreme, and I don't even know the official tenets of the movement, original or otherwise. From what I understand though a large portion of it is just men opting out of the dating/marriage game because of the general schittiness of western women. Think about it. Most men want a woman that they find attractive, is not overweight, has a low bodycount, and will not cheat of them. That eliminates a huge portion of women already. Now not only are the remaining women in very high demand and will have the highest tier of men competing for them, think about what percentage of those women are not going to use the man for his money, or fukk him over with his kids or with a divorce settlement down the road.

I've generally checked out because of the odds. I still approach women I find attractive and I'm not writing anything off, but I'm 35 now and I realize that finding a marriage quality woman is a longshot at this point. If I did find a woman who I thought was marriage quality though I would 100% get a prenup. This should be standard for every couple who gets married no matter what. I've seen close siblings in my family turn on each other; one screwed the other one out of a house. They had known each other all their life and were always good to each other. I guess the payoff was too tempting. If blood can do that to blood, you better damn well expect a woman who may feel slighted would do that or worse if the marriage fell apart.

i see it like this. "mgtow" started popping up on a forum i was on about 10+ years ago and they would always ban the dudes. that got me curious about about what the heck it was. i think the logic used by "mgtow" just kinda creeped its way into being common knowledge while people don't label themselves "mgtow" like they are in some special fraternity. hence not a lot of dudes taking women seriously or getting married. a lot of the talk used by mgtow is the same stuff you hear in what i guess is called the manosphere...single moms, body count, divorced women, women only dating certain men and complaining no good men exist, women dating/marring for money after wild years, etc.

I'm not sure if I see any counterargument there. If you still approach women, you're not mgtow, so what I said doesn't apply to you.
Refusing to try because the odds are stacked against you, is another sign of immaturity just like turning to resentment because of a failed marriage.
