Skipped out of work at about 10 AM to get my tires rotated at my nearby tire shop. I drive up and the place is busy. Girl behind the counter says "We have a three hour wait time"
Yeah what the fuk. Why is a ****ing tire shop so God damn busy like this at 10 AM on a Tuesday? I used to be able to take my car anywhere and they always had openings at 9 am to 12 pm or so, especially middle of the week.
Everyone needs to get a job or something, I dunno.

you dont have a jack/stands or know someone? I could have this done within 10 minutes using an impact wrench. For even a pleb it would be under an hour.
If youre rotating fronts/rears just jack up one side at a time if you dont even have the jack or stands there should be the one that came with the vehicleUSMC 0311

they torque those aluminum rims so damn tight at the tire places you need your own impact gun or a 3ft 3/4" breaker bar to loosen them.
if they come off with a ratchet they were loose.
if you have steel rims like people use for snow tires then maybe just a socket wrench though the classic T-bar for lugs works better i think.

1. Like 1 in 6 people don't work as of 2023
2. Tire rotations are a literal scam and not necessary
3. Buy a jack and do it at home if you don't care about your pinch welds
4. The tire place was busy because again no one is at work, they're out racking up more debt on cards

Im not even mechanically inclined- youtube, forums, the manuals that come from the factory for repairs/disassembly are made for the average person IMO.
I wasnt even going to get into torque specs and confuse him even further. I just cant imagine rotating tires needing to be something youd waste your time at a business for.USMC 0311

........ bro you explain yourself right fcking now. did you follow me?
they do it for free. When I used to go there I was in and out in like 20 minutes.
yeah I think I post this every time there is a "nobody is working anymore" thread, but I used to work a night shift job like 10 years ago. I could go out at 9AM-12PM most any day and get things done. I even remember going to the mall at 9 AM on a Monday or Tuesday and doing some clothes shopping, and the place was mostly deserted. These days I can't go to the grocery store during the middle of the day and NOT have it be a madhouse.

Not in most cases, typically the tires wear at different rates depending on RWD/FWD ect so If you never rotate them they will wear out at different times so you'll be wasting time trying to get 2 tires replaced in half the time as 4 regular worn tires. And if its an AWD vehicle putting 2 new tires with 2 warn tires can severely fook your transfer case.

Same i used to go out multiple times per day during the day either for lunches or breaks or sometimes i was just off that day. The town was pretty desolate unless it was rush hour. I mean it was usually quiet too. Everywhere is slammed now with what seems like 10x more traffic and it's 10x more congested as well. You used to also never see people at the gym until 3-4pm. Now they are packed all day.
