There have been numerous cures that have come out in the past decade or so, but many don't make it to human trials because of a high chance of death.

People always say there is a cure that they're hiding, not true, it is insanely complicated to cure HIV.

HIV is the greatest hide and seek champion in the universe. There isn't a drug or technique available that can find where the HIV is hiding and replicating in the billion possible hiding spots in your body, and even if a drug does find it, it won't see it, it's invisible due to having no "signals".

Guess where HIV hides? In DNA. Many of the cures proposed that have worked simply destroy the DNA but that is extremely dangerous

This is why the common treatment today is antivirals, it'll just kill the millions of copies of the virus thats currently swimming around your body but it can't kill the viral factory that is constantly creating copies of the virus. HIV creates 1000 copies of the virus today, the antivirals kill it. Tomorrow HIV creates another 1000 copies, the anti virals you took kills it.
