You can have a pre-workout that labels as 300mg caffeine per scoop
If it says proprietary blend, you can be consuming 100mg caffeine for 1 workout and 500mg for the next

The not the problem with proprietary blends lol.
The ingredients will say "10g per scoop of x, y, z, a, b c" but no exact value of how much of each. C could be a very expensive very effective ingredient and there could be 1mg per scoop. They could even do 9.95g of x and then 1mg of each of the others and still call it "10g of all this stuff" and it's not technically wrong so they can't be sued for false advertising.

Supplements with proprietary blends were big in the early 2000's. Been about 10 years or so since I've seen a label with proprietary blends. Plenty of good brands out there that list exact amounts. If you see proprietary blend on the label, don't buy it. My pre-workouts these days are stim-free. No point in adding caffeine just to "feel" it working. "Feel" = jitters and chitting
